• Completely unorganized with terrible communication

  The listing on Viator is filled with misinformation. There were several things on the listing that were factually incorrect: 1) The listing says that the tour is 11hrs but it is actually 13hrs. Now the issue with this is my partner and I (along with several others on the tour) had tickets to the AC Milan game in the evening. The game was rescheduled from Sunday to Saturday, so it wasn’t originally planned to need to be back by a certain time but we confirmed we would be able to do both, we called the support number who told us we would be back by 7pm or 7:30pm absolutely latest if there was traffic. When we got to the bus we asked the guide and company representative who said we would actually would be back around 6-6:30pm. In reality the tour ended up getting back to Milan after 9pm. 2) We didn’t even get on the tour that we booked. The morning of we got to the pickup to get on the Como & Bellagio bus and they told us we were on another bus. Our thinking is they overbooked the tour we paid for and just put us on another (Viator is just booking this as a third party through a company run via the Milan visitor center) 3) Connected to the last 2 points, the itinerary was WAY off from reality. In the morning we didn’t actually get to go to Como, we just drove through it and then got on a boat to Bellagio where we spent a few hours before going to Varenna. In Varenna we were told we would get 2hrs but then the boat was late so we were told we only actually had 1hr until we had to come back to the meeting point. All that rush to make us get on the next boat to Bellano which was almost 1 HOUR DELAYED. While we were waiting for this delayed boat we started getting stressed about making it back in time to Milan for this game. We asked the guide the plan and he said after we got to Bellano we would get on the bus and head back (which should have got us back in time). After we got on the bus he told everyone we were going to stop in Como now for 1.5hrs (probably because they realized they hadn’t fulfilled the itinerary). At this point we were very upset because we had been lied to and realized we wouldn’t be back until 9pm at the earliest. We told the guide that we needed to get back to Milan for the game at which point he called the company organizing and told us they are completely unorganized and unreliable. He then asked the bus who else needed to get back to Milan for the game at which point ~10/50 people said they needed to get back. So he told us we could take a train back to Milan, which we did but it cost us another 40€. Look at the end of the day the guide tried to do what he could in the situation but you would think between checking the time we would be back between 3 sources (Itinerary, support phone line, and host/guide) we should have been confident. As a result we ended up getting to the game late. We are incredibly disappointed in how they misrepresented this listing, and this is not the first time I have done a Viator tour that had a misrepresented itinerary. It doesn’t feel that difficult to update it to have it more accurate, I understand things happen causing some slight differences in timing but 2hrs late vs the plan is absolutely unacceptable and not only did it ruin the experience for us it also cost us the additional train tickets from Como and we didn’t even get to see the town like the itinerary said. The only thing making this not a 2 star is that making the trip to see Lake Como is incredibly beautiful and 100% worth the visit, just wouldn’t recommend doing it with this company.

  Is an all day thing , the time spent cruise the lake is too short in my i opinion and then you spend too much time traveling by bus

  It is worth the joy to realize! Everything was perfectly organized. You can tell they work with a serious company. Andrea, our guide, was very professional and very cordial in his treatment.

  Great tour but the guide walked really fast and we had a hard time keeping up. Asked her to slow down said she would but didn’t. But she was very knowledgeable and extremely clear on her instructions.
