  Bought this for my dad, an avid whisky fan, as a birthday present. We both really enjoyed the experience. Chris, the tour guide and all round expert on everything to do with whisky, was the perfect host and made the afternoon into an entertaining, informative trip. And the tasting at the end was eye opening, with the development of the taste of the spirits. If it tastes this good now, will be interesting to see what they will taste like in coming years. Well worth booking on this tour.

  Our guide Chris was brilliant. his knowledge was immense and his passion for his craft came through to us all. We were a family of 8 and our tour was just us, so it felt really personal it was brilliant Chris thank you. This is a fascinating insight into the world of whisky distillery and I would recommend this to anyone. The process of distilling kept us all enthralled and all our questions were answered without any hesitation. Chis’ knowledge is immense. We are still talking about it days later

  We had a great tour with Chris. He is passionate about his business and so made for a fun and informative guide. There is plenty of spirit to be tasted at the end of the tour and it was all very relaxed. It was very personal with just the two of us and Chris. There is a chance to buy at the end but we were under no pressure. Thoroughly recommend.

  Fascinating and inspiring tour around one of England's newest whisky distilleries, even as a seasoned whisky enthusiast and having been on plenty of tours there was so much to learn. Lancaster Spirit co are approaching the whole process from a fresh angle and it shows in their spirits. We were treated to at least half a dozen partially matured new make spirits, something ive never experienced elsewhere. Definitely worth a look if you are into whisky and/or just in the area looking for something a bit out of the ordinary

  I've visited tons of distilleries previously but it's rare that you get to visit a brewery and a distillery in one! It's a great opportunity to learn about what makes whisky different from beer as they share a lot of the same processes. While many distilleries have automated much of the production, it was special to see what a manual production system looks like and what is required to create the spirit. Lancaster Distillery Co doesn't technically have whisky (as per the definition of 3 years+ to bottling) but you do get to taste the new make spirit and spirit that has been aged for a bit (9 months) in highly active wooden barrels. This also makes the tour stand out compared to other whisky tours, where you might get to sample new make, but never anything that cannot be legally defined as whisky. Because Lancaster, being in England, doesn't have to play under the same rules as Scotland when producing their whisky, you learn why certain decisions like the still, the yeast, and the wood really matters when it comes to making whisky something you want to drink and return back to!! Quite a different experience than just any old whisky tour!! Highly recommend for those who are new to whisky and also those that really love whisky!! There's truly something for everyone during the tour.
