If you are travelling on a cruise ship docking in the port of Warnemuende, this local, informative and relaxed shore excursion will be perfect for you! Explore the area with a knowledgeable tour guide. This is a walking tour which also uses the local public train (tickets included in tour costs).
This shore excursion is adjusted to each ship’s docking times, returning with plenty of time to spare before its departure. Our expert team has been organizing these tours for nearly a decade. We have never missed a cruise ship’s departure and imparted our knowledge and enthusiasm for our unique and beautiful city to thousands of satisfied passengers!
Please note this tour cannot be run from ships docking in Rostock as there is no access to public transportation in this port. This tour is only offered to ship which dock in Warnemuende Port.

Please note this tour is only offered from ships docking in Warnemünde and cannot be offered from ships docking in Rostock, Überseehafen.
A moderate amount of walking is involved. We do not recommend this tour to passengers with walking difficulties.
Please bring some change in EUR for toilet stops, beverages and for lunch. Please ask our tour guide to arrange for a stop at an ATM if you do not have EUR with you. US dollars are not accepted in Germany.
We will unfortunately will not be able to wait for you if you are late and do not contact us. In such cases we will not be able to provide a refund.
The route of the tour is subject to ship’s docking times, traffic, special events and any other circumstances out of our control. Please note we will not be able to provide a refund if the touring time has to be shortened or the route needs to be changed because of any of the above.

Meet at the Warnemuende Rostock pier and start with a walking tour of Warnemuende. An enthusiastic local guide will share insight into the local history and present with you and take you to the most prominent places in Warnemuende and Rostock. The tour starts with a stroll through Warnemuende, the fisherman's village and seaside resort your ship docks in today. See the typical gabled houses of the 18th and 19th century with their half-timbered facades and ornamented doors and gables. The authentic "Old Stream" canal with its fisherman's boats, boutiques, cafés and often street art performance is an absolute must-see. Above all towers the lighthouse of 1898 and the sandy beach. (Please note this tour cannot be run from ships docking in Rostock as there is no access to public transportation in this port. This tour is only offered to ship which dock in Warnemuende Port)
Head to Rostock on the public train and tram An approx. 30 min train ride away is the heart of Rostock, the biggest and most well known city of Mecklenburg county. This old hanseatic and university town offers a rich variety of sights and photo opportunities. During your guided walk of the historic center see the splendid town hall, lively market square, historic university, medieval monastery of the Holy Cross as well as the buzzling boulevard Kroepeliner Strasse and the brick gothic town wall and mighty town gates.

5.00Excellent small group tour (group of five) of Rostock with a local guide every step of the way for 4-5 hours. Met on time at the cruise building and was the same price as the cruise line tour; but theirs was a bus group of thirty, so this was much a better value and experience. Great guide : a retired professor at Rostock University . Highly recommend.

5.00Great way to get the whole history of Warnemünde and Rostock. Our guide,Bernard, was very knowledgeable and we loved the small group (5 total!). The best part was St Mary’s church!!

5.00Our multi-generational family of 6 enjoyed a beautiful day and excellent tour with Andreas timed perfectly with our stop in Warnemunde during a cruise. We were met by Andreas right outside the ship. We walked through the quaint town of Warnemunde - filled with historic cottages and flowers to the lighthouse and beach. Then we took a short train ride to Rostock and saw the square, courthouse, and university. We took the tram and then train back to Warnemunde with time to spare for lunch and shopping. Andreas was an amazing guide and we learned about living in East Germany before 1989 - which we weren't expecting!

5.00Great tour to learn more specifically about life in both Wandermunde and Rostock. Yvonne, our guide shared so much cultural knowledge with us regarding everything we saw. Walking through the streets of Wandermunde, to navigating the train to Rostock (very easy), to the top sites in Rostock - we saw it all! Without this tour I never would have learned about the St. Mary”s anatomical clock of 1472 which captivated me. I thought, “oh great a visit to a church.” But boy was I wrong - I was fascinated with the architecture and beauty and then I saw the clock and wanted to learn everything about this marvel of time! While the tour does require much walking it was usually quite easy and the guide met us just off the ship and departed at the Wandermunde train station so we could explore the village at the end. Here there is a ton of shopping and delicious dining - a very beautiful port!

5.00We weren't sure what to expect from this area, especially since most of our cruise mates made the journey into Berlin. What a nice surprise. We took a walking tour around Warnemunde and then the train to Rostock. Both were really nice stops. Beautiful towns with lots of shops and places to eat with beautiful views. If you've already been to Berlin, make the home port your destination and enjoy! You can enjoy beach at Warnemude or the water promenade. Very nice day!
