The Kelpies & The Helix

The Kelpies: The largest equine sculptures in the world. Standing at 100ft tall and weighing more than 300 tonnes each, the magical Kelpies are a man-made wonder and a feat of engineering. The works of art, created by artist Andy Scott, have become iconic on the landscape after being modelled on real-life icons of times gone by — Clydesdale horses Duke and Baron. The Kelpies represent the lineage of the heavy horse of Scottish industry and economy, pulling the wagons, ploughs, barges and coalships that shaped the geographical layout of Falkirk. The Kelpies’ name reflects the mythological transforming beasts that possess the strength and endurance of 100 horses.

We had the best day touring the Highlands and learning about the history of Scotland. Our guide, Nathan was fantastic. We were a bit reticent to take this tour because we have a two and a four-year-old in tow but Nathan was great with the kids and found a great balance between ride times and letting the kids explore. They especially loved the cows! We would do this again in a heartbeat.

We had a truly unique experience that surpassed our expectations ! Nathan was an amazing guide who totally morphed to make this a unique experience, not only for the adults but also for the two and four-year-old on our family tour. He made our trip magical for both adults and kiddos! The kids so warmed up to him and we all had such a great time. We would do it again tomorrow!

What an amazing day with our wonderdul guide Donald. Despite the weather we spent the day exploring the highlights and countryside of beautiful Scotland. Donald kept us engaged and knew exactly where to stop and help us beat any crowds and get the best experience. The ride was comfortable and by the end of the day Donald was like an old friend. I highly recommend booking this trip and if you are lucky enough to have Donald as your guide get ready for one amazing day!

We cannot say enough about our fantastic tour with Donald from Bonnie Scotland Tours! We booked a 7 day tour and every day was a 10 out of 10! Our itinerary was full of history, castles, amazing hikes, The Braemer Gathering, sheep dog demonstrations and so much more with fun and laughter all the way! We had the absolute best time with our guide/driver Donald. He took us all the Highlands and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area. We would highly recommend this tour!

Our trip today was very enjoyable 🤩 Mr Nathan, our guide was so informative, so accomodating and fun to be with. It was great to experience and see the beauty in Scotland for a day with his team. Nathan is a traveling Scottish encyclopedia with a few “legends” mixed in! He made sure we were able to take a boat tour which wasn’t in the original agenda. Recommended fabulous places for lunch and dinner. Can’t recommend enough!

Overall, this was an excellent tour. So a good deal of Scotland in a relatively compact time. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. My only slight criticism is that the vehicle (Ford) windows somewhat smaller than other types of vehicles with more restricted views.
