• Marseille nice but tour disappointing

  While our visit to Marseille was very nice and the views were gorgeous, the tour did not go well. First, we came off a cruise ship and the directions to the meet-up point we very poor. My husband uses a walker and we had to walk about a mile through traffic in the port to the meet-up point. Then, on one of the stops to the city center, the driver left my husbands walker at the stop. He had to leave our group at another stop and go back to get it. Fortunately, it was still there. There were 8 of us in the group and I know that 4 of the others were also disappointed with this tour.

  Our excursion through Marseille was nothing short of unforgettable—a beautifully curated journey through one of France’s most vibrant and historic coastal cities. From the moment we began, it was clear this was more than just a tour; it was an experience thoughtfully designed to bring the spirit of Marseille to life. We started at the breathtaking Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, perched high above the city, offering panoramic views of the sparkling Mediterranean and terracotta rooftops below. The history shared here was rich and engaging, giving real depth to what we were seeing. From there, we wandered down to the iconic Vieux-Port, where the charm of Marseille truly shines. Watching fishermen sell their daily catch while boats gently bobbed in the harbor felt like stepping into a postcard. The guide seamlessly blended history with modern-day culture, making every stop feel meaningful. Exploring the colorful streets of Le Panier was a highlight—narrow alleyways filled with art, character, and stories around every corner. It’s the kind of place you could get lost in for hours, and we were grateful to have someone knowledgeable leading the way. The visit to Palais Longchamp was equally impressive, showcasing Marseille’s architectural beauty and cultural richness. Each stop on the itinerary felt perfectly paced, never rushed, and always engaging. What truly made the excursion exceptional, however, was the guide—warm, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their love for Marseille was contagious, and they went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt connected to the city. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Marseille. It strikes the perfect balance of history, beauty, and authentic local charm—an absolute must-do experience.

• A day of joy and history

  This was not a guide tour with a driver. It was a day if joy with a gentleman, a knight that make us feeling like if we have been friends forever. Definitely we will go back. Joe has knowldege of the City, the History and the stories. At every stop and even facing the uncertanity of closed rodas, he sido see an issue he found an opportunity to make the experience as best as possible.   Not worth it. No parking spots. Hard to understand the guide. Bus was very crowded: perhaps 60 on board. Would not do again.

  Bus tour with stops at a monument, cathedral and town plaza for shopping or food. Laurent was passionate and informative about his city. It was a good experience. At the beginning and end is a 10 minute walk to the starting and ending point and as my wife had recent knee surgery and another gentleman had some walking difficulties, he drove us in his personal car right to the ship. He is a very nice man and did a goodn ob.

  Our guide Joe (associated with Domitia) picked us up at ship side exactly on time. The other couple decided not to go because of the weather. But Joe did not skimp on anything on the tour! Joe shared his knowledge of Marseille and gave us plenty of time at each stop to enjoy the views and take pictures. He was able to drive right to the entrance of "Bonne Mere" Notra Dame de la Garde. He also pointed out where to buy specialty products from Marseille and Provance. In summary, it was an enjoyable overview which gave us the flavor of what it was like to live in Marseille.

  Starting point is quite near the terminal that our cruise parked, around 10 minutes walking. Our driver Joe is very nice and responsible. He guided us through Marseille with knowledge and history. He contacted us before the day of the tour and kept us informed during the tour.

  Joe was our guide and driver. We were the only couple on the excursion and got hopelessly lost trying to get to the meeting point (it's a VERY small gray building maybe 1/4 mile from where our ship docked). Joe figured out where we were from the pictures we sent via WhatsApp, and we had a wonderful tour. Lots of great stories, history and fun included. Highly recommend this tour?
