To start with pick up was a breeze. Short ride out of town to the lake before getting outfitted with all our gear. There Mason and the guys got us in the canoe. Now this is definitely a bit of a paddle so be prepared but it is totally worth it. We got extremely close to the glacier after paddle across the lake. When there we got out of canoe and talked about glacier and had our “rock talk” which was very interesting then got to “hunt” around for gems. Got some awesome photos with glacier so close in the background. On the paddle back stopped by the massive falls. Unfortunately the porcupines were not around this day but did see a lot of bald eagles. Even the rain at the end didn’t dampen our spirits. This tour was the highlight of our trip.

This tour was great! This is the best way to see the glacier and get up close and personal. The water fall and lake were beautiful. Canoeing was a lot of fun also. Our guides, Issy and Jonathan, were terrific and very knowledgeable. Can’t say enough great things about Liquid Alaska tours!!

What a beautiful trail we walked through the rainforest. 4 hour guided walk. Our guide was Daniel Bauer from Gastineau Guiding. The guide also makes the trail, what an enthusiasm and drive. Perfectly groomed, learned a lot. Really took his time, don't know. Trail is tough, decent climb, mostly over rock etc., stairs are in it and at the end to the top a staircase of almost 200 steps, less suitable for people with knee / hip problems and less good to walk. Beautiful viewpoints over the Glacier. Beautiful waterfalls encountered along the way and salmon spotted in the river. Recommended!!!

We had an amazing time. The weather was mostly sunny and we just had a few sprinkles. Our guides, Luke (yay, Nebraska!) and Jordan were terrific, and provided all kinds of information about the glacier, rocks, flora, fauna, local lore, and more. They provide all the rain gear you need, including tall boots. The glacier was incredible, and you can no longer see it from either the visitor center or the falls, so you either hike 3 hours or canoe. We had a great group and everyone rowed well, so we made great time, and had extra when we landed. Warm drinks on our return topped it off.

We did the Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour and had the absolute best time! Our guides, Issy and Luke, were amazing—super knowledgeable, fun, and full of interesting facts that made the whole experience even better. We paddled about 5 miles, and they made sure everything went smoothly and kept the energy high the whole way. Couldn’t have asked for better guides—truly the best! Highly recommend this tour.

What an incredible experience! Getting up close to the glacier was absolutely breathtaking—the views were stunning, and the hike itself was the perfect balance of challenge and reward. It’s one thing to admire a glacier from afar, but standing right next to it is something I’ll never forget. Our guide was amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. He made the whole experience fun, engaging, and stress-free, making sure we had everything we needed along the way. His energy and enthusiasm really elevated the tour and made it so much more than just a hike. I especially liked the second hot drink after the rain :)

I had the BEST time on my Liquid Alaska canoe tour. Issy and Mason were funny, super knowledgeable about the wildlife and Mendenhall Glacier, and kept us laughing with so many punny jokes we almost tipped the canoe (just kidding)! Even on a cloudy day, the scenery was absolutely gorgeous and I’d 10/10 paddle into the wild with them again.

Our tour guides, Issy and Mason, were kind, knowledgeable and ready to show us all a great time. This tour may be expensive, but it’s well worth the price. This is your best option for seeing the glacier up close—so don’t miss out!
