This 4-hour, small-group tour with an experienced tour guide and a VIP limo mini bus will take you to Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meteora is one of the largest and most significant complexes of orthodox monasteries in Greece. You will have the opportunity to visit all six of the monasteries in this area, exploring the interior inside three of them.

Meteora

Many centuries ago, on these gigantic rocks reaching heights of close to 2,000 feet, one of the most important monastic communities of Greece was formed. After you’ve picked up in the morning from your hotel in Kalabaka or Kastraki enjoy a comprehensive Meteora half-day tour for 4 hrs, seeing all the area of Meteora, all 6 Holy Monasteries with the chance to visit inside 3 of them. Our expert in the area local, English speaking, Tour Leader will be with you to give you all the information you need about the area, share with you a vast amount of knowledge and he will help you to visualize why and how the first monks managed to establish one of the biggest monastic community in Greece on top of these unique rocks. Transported with comfort and safety, by our luxury air conditioned LIMO VIP Mini Bus towards cliff-top monasteries.     This is a great way to get a sense of the various monasteries! It does move quickly, so if you have a couple of days, I would suggest getting an overview with this tour, then going back alone to your favorite site to spend more time if you can. I would to have loved to have more time at each of the monasteries!

    I picked this company for both morning and evening visits to the monateries. It was convenient, they picked me up from the hotel. We got to visit a Church as well. The guide could have prepared better.

    This tour is absolutely worthy of your time. Kalambaka itself is awe-inspiring with views of Meteora from every corner of the town, while Meteora itself is breathtaking! Maria and our driver, took us to three of the active monasteries and before each stop Maria would give us hints and tips on where to go and what not to miss within each monastery. She was very knowledgeable having grown up in the area and it was interesting hearing about the history and the present day of the whole area. The driving was very skilful and I'm glad we chose a tour rather than trying to do it ourselves. Marriage saved, I'd say. Above all they are clearly passionate about their job and have no problem conveying that passion to us.
