Jan was amazing! He knew where to take us to see the northern lights, we all had a wonderful time and saw beautiful displays of the aurora, definitely a dream come true moment. I read reviews before booking and didn’t know what to expect and yes, there is no other guide in the van, Jan was the driver and guide in one, he had to multitask a lot but we never felt unsafe. His experience on the roads was evident. We sat up front with him, maybe third row in the back can’t hear the conversation as well but he ensured everyone was taken care of. We booked 3 nights with 3 different companies and tours with an extra guide and camp fire costs a lot more. All of these van seats are small so you feel cramped no matter what. I liked that it was only 8 people, made it more efficient. I highly recommend this tour.

The northern lights hunt were very successful, but think the company/ guide could do more. The photos that they took were amazing, but other than that, did not care about his customers, was smoking and had to stop the car to fill it up before the trip (think the should have done it before). We did other tours and looks the others were more professional.

I recently joined an Aurora-seeking tour in Tromsø, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment. The weather conditions were clearly unfavorable, with thick clouds making it almost impossible to spot the Northern Lights. Despite this, the crew decided to proceed with the trip, which I believe was a poor judgment on their part. As professionals, they should have evaluated the forecast more carefully and canceled the trip when it was obvious that the chances of success were minimal. Instead, we spent a significant amount of money on what felt like an aimless drive in poor weather conditions with no real hope of seeing the lights. To make matters worse, we later spoke with other people who had gone on a different tour the same night and managed to see the aurora. Perhaps they were lucky, but their guides were willing to go further or adapt their plan, something our guide did not even attempt to do. This made the experience even more frustrating, as it felt like a missed opportunity due to poor planning and lack of effort from our guide. While I understand that the aurora can never be guaranteed, the decision to go out in such conditions showed a lack of consideration for the customers’ experience. It felt like they prioritized running the tour over delivering quality service. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. If you’re booking an aurora tour, choose a provider that puts customer satisfaction first and is willing to adapt to make the most of the opportunity.

Definitely the highlight of my trip (and pretty sure of everyone else who was on that trip :))! Our guide Jan (I hope I spelled it correctly) was very nice, knowledgeable and made the whole experience just wonderful. He somehow was able to spot the lights right away even before they became visible to the naked eye. The whole process was very smooth and our group as promised was only 8 people. We drove for only about two hours and got to see the northern lights as soon as we got out of the car. Thank you again Jan! Will definitely be back with my friends and family next time :))

I chose this tour because it said up to 8 people. While this was true for being cramped in a van, and no fault of green and gold, but the one family of 3 was very rude. Dad was about as tall as me and quickly obtained the front seat and after the second stop, I asked the mother to swap with me as she was vertically challenged, and it was a hard no… the driver was also not as long legged as me, so there was a ton of leg room on that side. The family also took forever to get back into the van to head out after a restroom break (we went to Finland -3.5 hours each way). They were also initially late to the meetup spot too, so the headline was misleading because they actually had 3 tours at one time (3 different vans), so we also had to wait on others who were late. The next concerning issues was that there was not a guide AND a driver (2 different people like the rest of the tours I was on), so the guide/driver was also using his phone while driving (talking and looking things up), and looking up at the sky while driving. This is Norway/Finland… roads are icy and people drive crazy speeding down icy roads… I didn’t feel safe at all. The guide/driver also kept commenting about how we missed the lights because we took so long at the WC stop. While it was true, I don’t think it was necessary to keep saying it. We did stay out later than planned according to the itinerary, and through no fault of the guide/driver, we missed the show. I was glad that I was able to see them a few days prior to this tours. The rating had nothing to do with not being able to see the lights but rather the driving, etc. My recommendation is that the company place a second person to talk on the phone and look up the guide chat, etc., so the driver can actually focus on driving.
