Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

Wheelchair accessible. Motorized wheelchairs and electric scooters are not able to be accommodated. Manual wheelchairs are allowed up to a maximum width of 28". Personal weight restriction of approximately 280 pounds due to the ramp configuration and ability of crew to assist in boarding the wheelchair with the occupant.

A tour with the Calypso is one of the most fun on Maui! This stable, high-speed, triple-decker catamaran will get you to two snorkel sites fast: Molokini Crater and Turtle Town, and with all the equipment you need and plenty of food on board, what more could you ask for? The Calypso leaves from Ma’alaea Harbor, and after you are welcomed aboard by your friendly crew, you can take a look at the delicious continental breakfast. After everyone is settled in, it’s off to the most popular underwater destination in Maui for some Molokini snorkeling! While you are enjoying the feel of the ocean wind in your hair. Molokini Crater is located between the islands of Maui and Kaho’olawe. This beautiful site is not only home to several fish species, but many species of birds, as well! The crater is a designated Marine Life Conservation District and bird preserve, so no fishing or climbing on the crater is allowed, but wearing flippers and a mask to watch the fish is perfectly wonderful. After your Molokini snorkeling, Calypso will whisk you to Turtle Town – a second snorkeling spot. Off the south side of Maui, Turtle Town is home to several large sea turtles as well as dynamic reef fish.

5.00Amazing snorkel trip to Molokini! This boat is very stable for a comfortable ride to the crater. The whole back of the boat is several staircases to enter the water making it easy to unload a lot of people quickly. There were 2 lifeguards keeping us safe the whole time. Staff were wonderful. Someone's potato chip bag blew into the water and one of the lifeguards swam out to get it! The water was crystal clear and a Hawaiian Monk Seal came to visit and was very friendly. I highly recommend this tour.

5.00Amazing experience for anyone looking to explore the creatures living within the beautiful coast of Hawaii. The boat crew was so kind and accommodating. They really thought of everything so their guests would feel taken care of during their trip. I highly recommend this experience!

5.00We were debating going with Calypso or with a smaller boat, but we are very happy we chose Calypso. Staff was super friendly, they had 3 lifeguards in the water at all times, they fed us really well with two meals, snacks and ice cream and we got to see absolutely mesmerizing corals and underwater life, great experience! We were back by 1pm so we had the rest of the day to enjoy other activities as well

5.00Was an excellent experience we a small group. Easy to board and enter/exit the water. The tour guide was in the water with us and provided information about the Manta Rays including their names. Much better than the larger boats that we could see in the area. Highly recommend this snorkel experience.

5.00Such a great experience. The crew was amazing and the snorkeling was great, the food was good, and there was tons of it available. There were awesome slides and a big jump off the second deck, and watching people use them was really fun. The drinks were super cheap! The whole thing was just incredibly fun and relaxing.

5.00Don’t listen to any other review. Trust me. If this trip today was indicative of other days, you will have a blast. Nice crew and helpful. Attentive. Mom is 75 and she snorkelled today with the help of the staff. Food was plentiful and good. (Fruit, ice cream, sodas, and sandwiches of all varieties. Even alcohol to purchase if you wanted. He was also fair with the pours! Only one truly disappointing piece— only 1 turtle. But the humpback made up for it.
