Anton was a very kind and informative guide. He and his driver picked me up directly from Mombasa Terminus and were already waiting for me when I arrived. They also took me to check into my hotel before starting the tour which was so nice and accommodating and ensured that I was comfortable throughout the tour. I appreciated that Anton was very honest about the history of Mombasa - noting the painful or uncomfortable past is hard but necessary. He made point to highlight that people have purposefully removed many reminders of the dark past of the city, thereby keeping the important shared memories and history alive. These are things you might not easily find on an internet search. The tour in general really connected the dots from what I learned during my tours in Nairobi and allowed me to have a more complete understanding of Kenya’s history. Mombasa is a small, beautiful city and Anton really brought it alive for me. I highly recommend this tour if you’re looking to be an informed traveling and want to fully understand what you are experiencing while you are in the city.
