Mombasa Tusks
We'll take a picture with the Elephant Tusks in Mombasa. They are on Moi Avenue, and they were commissioned to commemorate a visit of Queen Elizabeth in 1952.
Mombasa
We'll stop at the Spice Market. It’s the oldest market in Mombasa. It was built in 1914 by the British Colony. We get tourists from all around the world who visit the market. In it you’ll find all kinds of Spices - what will you try? Will it be cardamom, pepper, turmeric… or some new curry powders?

Humphrey was an engaging storyteller who truly brought the history of Fort Jesus to life. We had a wonderful guided tour around Mombasa’s Old Town, and we felt both safe and secure in his company. He receives our very highest recommendations.

Humphrey was very knowledgeable about the four Jesus and the history of Kenya. We are from the USA African American and we came here to Mombasa to learn about our history and who we are in the history of Mombasa. I have learned so many new things about the four Jesus the Portugal's and everything about to Mombasa and how can you has freed himself from the Portugal. I will give Humphrey five stars with plus plus because he was very friendly very knowledgeable and honestly he literally feels like family. He made us feel good about ourselves and inviting our minds and spirit to things that was not told to the black people in the diaspora and especially the ones in the USA. When I come back to Mombasa I'm going to come back with my family so they can also learn from Humphrey. If you want a tour guide please pick Humphrey he is the best five stars plus plus. Thank you. Kenna

I took this trip on a Sunday, I met Humphrey outside the Fort and we agreed on a price, he promised to take me to the fort, old town, spice market and temple, the tour through the fort was informative but rushed, as I was also creating content I couldn’t really understand him as he was rushing through. The old town walk was amazing and the tour ended there. He said the spice market was closed (he didn’t share this information before as I think we could have started with the spice market as it was closing early) and he didn’t even take me to the said temple. He took nice pictures of me and he was respectful. But I’d definitely not take a tour with him again. As a guide I think it’s important to let your client know important information from the go so they can make informed choices.

We had a truly wonderful experience with Humphrey on our tour through Fort Jesus, Old Town, and the spice market in Mombasa. Humphrey has an exceptional level of knowledge and shared fascinating historical, cultural, and local insights throughout the entire tour. He was incredibly helpful, friendly, and very open, always happy to answer questions and adapt the tour to our interests. His passion for Mombasa and its history really shines through and made the experience both educational and enjoyable. This tour was a highlight of our stay, and we would highly recommend Humphrey to anyone visiting Mombasa. We would absolutely book with him again!

It's actually a sales tour. First the carving workshop, then the Fort Jesus, yes, a small run-down fortress, old town that is really old, nothing picturesque, depressingly decaying, you might not believe that people live there. After that spice market, we were led to a booth, really forced to buy large spice packs (which you never use up) and coffee or tea. Meat market we have thankfully renounced. An experience you can do without.

We had the pleasure of meeting an exceptionally kind, conscientious, and highly knowledgeable leader. Throughout the entire tour, it was clear that he guided us through the fort with true passion and dedication, and we gained an incredible amount of new insight along the way. We are certain this was not our last meeting — because we didn’t just come away with a wonderful experience, but also gained a friend. Thank you so much for everything, Humphrey! Warm regards, Szabi, Jacky and Junior
