  Our captain Mana was outstanding with his leadership on our tour. We visited an area where we swam among blacktip reef sharks and rays, then he took us to a spot where we were one of two small groups in a coral bed where we saw lots of smaller,colorful fish. Next we were off to a small islet where Mana prepared poisson cru, a local dish that reminded us of ceviche. He gave a demonstration of several skills needed to prepare the ingredients as he went along. Finally we had some explanations of local Moorean herbal medicines, and we then made our way back to the launch point. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

  Let me just start with saying that there was a huge mixup for our pickup location. Miti Tours made it right without question. Mana, our captain was fantastic! He was very accommodating and provided the right touch of humor and education about the island of Mo’orea. He was always under control of the boat and offered assistance whenever needed. Elvis was the chef. Between him and Mana, they made some delicious food! The food was very authentic. The experience on this tour was everything my wife and I had dreamed of. The snorkeling was great but the highlight were the sharks and stingrays. There is nothing about this tour that could be improved upon. Well done Miti Tours and a special thank you to Mana and Elvis as well as the rest of the gang!

  

  

  

  

• Awesome boat ride, snorkeling and experience

  I would definitely recommend this boat tour. I get seasick and was concerned about the boat trip, but it turns out Moorea has a natural reef all the way around it, and therefore the sea is relatively calm. I had no issues. Kaku was an excellent tour guide. He told us about the island and the Tahitian culture. We went near the two bays so we could see the beauty of the island. He then took us to our first snorkeling stop, which was a sandbar. This was an easy and exceptional snorkeling spot for anyone The water is less than 4 feet deep and if you needed to stand, you could stand on the sand. There was also plenty of coral for the fish to swim around, but the highlight was definitely petting the stingrays and swimming with the black tipped sharks. Our second spot for snorkeling was again a relatively easy area to snorkel. There were again many fish, stingrays, and sharks. If you do not like to get in the water, you can see the stingrays and sharks and many fish from the boat. They provided a mask and snorkel as well as a soft clean towel. They do not provide fins, but at the first sight, you do not need them. At The second site I used my fins to explore a little further. Our next stop was for lunch and Kaku showed us how to open a coconut and shave out the coconut meat. He then prepared the traditional poisson cru. I am not a raw fish eater, and this was one of the most delicious things on the trip. We then had lunch chicken, fish, and a few other side dishes that were OK. One of the guest asked to see a turtle and Kaku did not disappoint. He took us by the place where the turtles were swimming and we saw at least three turtles. Again I would definitely recommend this trip. It was a highlight of my trip.

  We felt that our guide, though entertaining at times, could have been more involved with his guests. He never helped any of us on or off the boat in the water and we had to help each other. Whenever he could, he retreated form the group to listen to something on his cell phone. Not impressed.

  Experience was 10/10!!! Our tour guide Kakiu was the best and our lunch was SOOOO YUMMY! Especially the raw fish! If we ever make it back to Tahiti we will be booking this tour again!

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

• AWESOME Moorea Snorkeling Trip! Thank you, Wilfred!

  Wilfred was our guide. I am completely convinced with his knowledge and skills he could easily win a season of Survivor - especially if it took place in Moorea. A great guy! I would book a Moorea snorkeling tour again in a heartbeat... as long as Wilfred was the guide. Now the details. Within two minutes of starting out in the morning, in a perfectly calm harbor, Wilfred stopped the boat to share some local history with us - which I wish I would have recorded. He had a coin with him and showed us that the image of the mountain on the coin was the mountain we were seeing in the distance. WOW! During the day, Wilfred conveyed local history and culture. We were not treated just as guests, we were treated like his family. So special and memorable. The spots where Wilfred stopped were spectacular. He mentioned he had names for all the stingrays. After seeing how comfortable the stingrays were, I completely believe Wilfred can tell the stingrays apart. Stingrays, black tip reef sharks and fish too numerous to even count were all around us. Wilfred gave us excellent guidance as to how to move when the stingrays and sharks were around us. I never had any concerns in the water. I've been back for two weeks and I'm still re-watching the videos I took. Wilfred, THANK YOU! -Steve

• Beautiful getaway in the lagoon

  Superb boat day with fantastic scenery. Snorkeling with blacktip sharks and pastenague rays. BBQ on a motu for a delicious lunch break with coconut milk tuna preparation. A top captain, and no more than 12 people, I recommend.
