Step into the slippers of a local as we snack our way around Moorea with your local guide. Tama'a means to eat in Tahitian and we will be doing just that as you and our taste buds will discover the best local spots.
During your food tour you will taste and visit authentic local finds that will offer unique flavors where locals like to eat. You will be taken off the beaten bath and discover local "snack shops" and road side fruit stands. The food in Tahiti consists of three cultures; Tahitian, Chinese, and French. On the Tama'a street food tour we will seek out hidden food gems from all three backgrounds.
Guest will experience 10-12 tastings, depending on season and availability. The tour will take between 4-5 hours.
We will also stop at some breathtaking sites, and get a little cultural history of the island. The tour stops in the main town of Maharepa.

Moorea Food adventures offers a unique local food perspective. Our guided tour will take you off the beaten path in which you will experience local favorites from local vendors, stands, cafes, and businesses. We will be tasting a diversity of foods and drinks such as local seasonal fruits, cause-croute chowmen, fish dishes such as poisson crue, local fruit pies, meat pies, mape nut, breads, ma'a tinito, to name a few of the local favorites. We will be driving around in a 4x4 safari style or truck or in a minivan to explore the sites and food. Pick up from Hotel/accomodations will start at 8am-8:30am. Tour will start with our first stop at around 9:15am. We will most of the north side of the island and stop at a few of the sites along the way. We recommend dressing casually, and comfortable. Slippers (flip flops), or casual shoes(tennis shoes) are fine. We will be driving majority of the tour, and very little walking. -Experience the Moorea food scene with island chef and Moorea native, Heimata. -4-5 hours duration of tour. -All tastings included in price -Dresscode is very casual and comfortable, island style as we say. -Slippers(flip flops)/casual shoes recomended. Remember you are on vacation! -Pick up included from Hilton resort, Manava resort, Sofitel resort, Kaveka hotel, Eimeo Lodge and airBnb or other accommodations with in the area. -Transport can be arranged for you if your accommodations is situated outside the pick up zone. -4-5 hours from start to finish for tour.

5.00WOW! Do not miss this tour, it was truly some of the best food we’ve had in our trip. Mareva was such a kind and knowledgeable guide, it felts like being shown around by an old friend. It was such an incredible experience to see local food spots and support the local businesses. I cannot recommend doing this tour enough if you’re in Moorea.

5.00Our experience with Moorea Street Food Tour was absolutely astounding. It was clear from the beginning that Heimata, the owner of the company and our local street food guide, was fulfilling his calling of cultural ambassador to Moorea. He was very intentional about connecting the cultural history of the people of Moorea to the food he introduced us to. Heimata was not only raised on the island, but has a culinary background and was clearly supporting his local community by highlighting their endemic cuisine. Heimata introduced us to new foods, the cultural significance of those food items, the local vendors and community members, and we ultimately came away with a much better sense of how to eat locally and well during our stay. Definitely make this one of the first tours you book while in Moorea. It will vastly improve the way you approach food and other activities here! 5.00Fantastic introduction to Tahitian street food, including the cultural background and context for why and when different flavors arrived on the islands. Delicious selection of flavors and really good conversation! We stopped at 5 or so spots and tried a total of 15 bites/dishes. Really good time.

5.00Heimata is a Chef that is native to Moorea with an impressive conary resume and great knowledge of cuisine. We had tastings at some known and lesser-known restaurants and small snacks along the island. His extensive knowledge of the history of the island and origins of the off thev beaten path dishes was the highlight. I am not a foodie and ate some dishes i would never consider on a menu that i thoroughly enjoyed. I used this tour to gain insight into its history and culture of the island and it nailed it. Don't sleep on this tour!

3.00Nice experience, except that it was indicated small group (8) and we ended up at 14 so two vehicles. The guide very friendly but spoke much more American (most of his clientele) than French..

5.00What an incredible tour on a rainy day!! Hopping around (in a large dry A/C van) to some of the best local spots was the best thing to do on the rainiest day our trip. The guide is very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable. Thank you!

5.00Highly recommend this tour— doesn’t matter if you’ve been on the island for days or new arrivals. Good food, great education with Mareva, our guide. She’s very knowledgeable. We appreciated talking about everything from food, to politics, to French culture (island and European) and ecology. It ended up being a rainy day and perfect for this.

5.00Wow! What a great opportunity to taste different kinds of food and get local insight from someone born and raised on the island. We started the tour at the Moorea port and then had tastings are 4 different snack stores. Always interesting to learn about a different way of life and a unique relationship that a group of people have with food.
Everything in one day and it was amazing.

5.00Great food tour! This was a great way to experience Moorea in one day and meet new people. The owner was an amazing and delightful guide with close relations to the food scene and vendors. I’ve already recommended this trip to another person who is coming in December and they are thrilled as well.
