Disappointing tour. It seemed the tour company bundled three different tour groups going to different places on one bus, resulting in our tour being a lot of waiting and needless stops. We had almost no time in Lucern, but ample time at Pilatus even though there was little to do since much of it was closed due to weather.

Didn't know what to expect and when we diverted to Mount Rigi to drop 3 people off at the start of the day I did fear the worst. We then travelled to Lucerne where we got just over an hour to have a quick walk round the old town and walk the Chapel Bridge. We then moved onto Mt.Pilatus and started the foggy climb up in the Cog Wheel Train. The worry that we wouldn't see much was alleviated once we broke through the cloud to be met by glorious sun. At just over 2000m, the view from the top was stunning. 2 hours at the top gave us plenty of time to do a couple of walks, take plenty of photos, soak up the views and the sun and grab some food courtesy of the 20chf vouchers supplied due to the boat ride being unavailable this time of year. The cable car was under maintenance this time of year so we got the cog wheel train back down. Whether we got lucky with the sun and blue sky I don't know but it was a truly wonderful experience, the photos do not do it justice. Elizabeth our guide was fantastic as was Antonio our driver.

We started with a bus from Zurich to Lucerne. We spent a few hours in the beautiful town of Lucerne then we took the bus again to where we took cable cars to Mt. pilatus. It was foggy and when we reached the second stage towards the top it was so foggy that we couldn’t see more than a few feet ahead. We thought our trip was ruined but when we took the second stage cable car suddenly we were raised above the clouds and the peak of the mountain emerged under the sun. When we reached the top it was clear and sunny and cold. The views from up there were out of this world with the white clouds below us and peaks of mountains appearing here and there. We spent a few hours there and had lunch then we took the steepest cog train down all the way to the bus. Finally we took a cruise in the beautiful lake Lucerne before returning to Zürich.

Amazing trip, Bernie our guide was incredible and very informative and spoke fluently in many languages. The free time in Lucerne was great to be able to explore, gondola ride to the top of Pilatus was incredible as well as the train back down. Boat ride across lake lucern was a really nice way to end the trip.

The itenary was a bit tight. We had very little time in Lucerne & a long expanse to walk. I could not walk the distance to see the chapel Bridge in the time alotted. The bus could not get us close enough to the town. We did enjoy the trip up to the mountain. That was very exciting!!! We had 2 different language groups so the guide had to keep explaining things twice. One language group would have been better. Our guide did not carry a flag and at times it was difficult to see where he was. On two different occasions we lost tract of the group. Our guide very knowledgeable.

Great tour from Zurich if you want to see Lucerne and Mount Pilatus. We do wish we would have had a little more info from our guide in regards to Lucerne but enjoyed the city on our own. Mount Pilatus was amazing.
