Lake Lucerne
As your journey toward the idyllic town of Vitznau commences, you’ll get to soak up the magnificent panoramic scenery offered by an assortment of captivating Swiss landscapes, including Mount Pilatus, Burgentock, the Glarus Alps, and Lucerne’s beautiful vineyards. You’ll traverse the luscious meadows that characterize the Reuss Valley before encountering the steep cliffs that peer above the Urnersee. The cruise will then arrive at the lake’s deepest point, the Gersauer Becken (‘Basin of Gersau’), before taking an exhilaratingly sharp turn through the narrow opening between the Unter Nas (‘Lower Nose’) of the Bürgenstock and the Ober Nas (‘Upper Nose’) of the Rigi. As the cruise crosses this picturesque intersection, you’ll have the opportunity to take in the dreamy landscapes presented by Vitznauer Bucht, Küssnachtersee, Luzernersee, and other stunning lake areas. The voyage will continue through the narrow pass between Pilatus and Stanssad.

5.00Guide was early at platform 7 in central train station. We were a group of 9. The weather was perfect today for both Mt Pilatus and Mt Rigi with no obstruction of views. We experienced all modes of transportation! This trip offers a sweeping views, and just enough time to take photos in places we wanted. Lincoln is a wonderful tour guide, he took photos for us. We enjoyed our tour! I recommend this tour if you don’t mind paying a few hundred dollars. I booked with capital one shopping link to VIATOR with 30% gift card kickback! So sign up!

5.00Lincoln, our guide, was very informative and meticulous in guising us thru the tour. He ponted out the beat spots to sit on the train/tram/boat and did a superb job explaining the culture of Switzerland as well.

3.00Readers, honestly you can plan this trip yourself for half the price. If you are staying in Lucerne hotels you get a Swiss travel card which gives you half price tickets to the mountain cable car and the boat trip. We couldn't go down the mountain railway due to the weather and were not offered a refund.
