Nara gets very crowded during the afternoon and it could be hard to take great photos. Therefore, in our tour we go to the main sites of Nara (Kofuku-ji Temple, Todaiji Temple, Nara Park, and Kasuga Grand Shrine) before the crowd comes.

*Please be at the meeting spot, 10 minutes early than the scheduled time. Since we have other groups in the tour, we CANNOT accept any late guests. and will not be given a refund.

* For guests that book the Kyoto Station Pickup option, the fee from Kyoto to Nara Station is included in the tour but the fee on the way back is not included.

*This tour has up to 12 guests.

*In this tour, we will walk about 10,000 steps. (stairs and hills included)

*We will be using the train to go from Kyoto to Nara which takes around 1 hour.

*Please note that the 4-hour tour duration applies only to the Kyoto Station Departure Option. For the Kintetsu Nara Station Meet-up, it is 3 hours.

Nara is a very interesting place. Might have been exceptionally busy because of Golden Week by our Guide, Hina, did an excellent job of getting us there and making the experience wonderful. She's very knowledgeable and made sure everyone had the opportunity for the full experience.

This is our first time visiting Japan. We were so excited to see Nara and the famous deer park, but were pleasantly surprised to learn about the rich history of Nara, the deer and temples and shrines. Futaba was an excellent tour guide who gave awesome recommendations and general tips throughout our time together. Definitely book this tour the next time you visit Nara. You will not be disappointed. Thank you again Futaba!

Save your money on this one. This was a long tour with a lot of walking and the “tour” piece consists of like a few nuggets of information every 30 minutes. Since there’s no transportation back to Kyoto it would have been nice to have been given more information on how to get back, we were surprised to find out there’s only 1 express train every hour once we got back to the train station. I would only recommend making the trip out there without a guide if you are REALLY excited to see and feed the deer.

The tour was great! The tour guide, Daizen, was very friendly and knowledgeable about Nara, its history, and its culture. He also tried to get to know you on the ride to Nara. Given that I was carrying a lot of things, he offered to help hold or carry something every time. There is a lot of walking up hills, so be prepared for that. Also, the deer are gluttons. They can be friendly, but be ready for one or a few to approach you, asking you for food.
