  Must see, Amazing experience We also saw William Blake ex inmate who did a book signing. The audio tour is very educational. Cannot believe how small those cells were. The island stinks because of the birds.

  It was better than what I expected. The trip to Alcatraz was beyond words and awesome experience, and the trip around the bay. That was the icing on the cake. I loved it.

  I have been on maybe Viator tours in the past. This was my last favorite of all of them. This is not an actual guided tour. There is no guide. You just receive an audio device to listen too. While the history of Alcatraz is cool. I was disappointed in the description versus what the tour actually is. I can't say I would recommend it. You could do this on your own

  Other than the steep walk up the hill to see the actual facility the tour was great. The staff, boat, dock workers, etc. made it enjoyable.

  We booked this tour about a year ago. When we arrived to check in the person on check-in did not recognise the booking reference that I had. He then asked me if I had any other form of booking like a bar code. For some reason the bar code day of the tour did not match the ticket day of the tour This was stressful but it was eventually overcome. The actual tour was very good though.
