Starting at the historic Mathallen food hall, your guide will lead you on a walk through the buzzing district of Grünerløkka, where industry once ruled and culture now thrives. You’ll follow the Akerselva river, past colourful street art and local landmarks, and learn how this former working-class area became a hotspot for creativity, food, and culture.

I had the most incredible tour with Shaf. His attention to detail was superb! His knowledge of the history of Oslo and his knowledge of local food was impressive! He was friendly and personable. He gave me lots of great recommendations for both dinner and drinks as a solo traveller! Thank you Shaf for a wonderful tour!

Nice blend of authentic Norwegian cuisine. While I am glad they switched up the menu to include salmon, it is a bit odd to combine that with hot chocolate. My favorite was trying new foods like the reindeer stew and whale salami with the brown cheese & aquavit jelly. The Norwegian waffle was also delicious and a great way to end the tour.

Andreas was a very entertaining and knowledgeable guide. The food stops on the tour supported the story of the Norwegian culture. The length of time and amount of food served was perfect. I would highly recommend this tour.

Let's start with our guide, Shaff! He took wonderful care of us through our brief exploration of this trendy and vibrant neighborhood. Tasty bites and a beautiful sunset were had along with morsels of thought-provoking knowledge.

The tour was informative and fun. We spent three hours enjoying delicious (and not too much) food and along the way great stories about Oslo and Norway. The walk was quite doable (stairs) and well paced. This is a great way to learn about Norwegian society snd culture.

Hated beer choice on first stop Bartender would not change for a different beer even though it was a tiny glass. Small amount of lukewarm stew and sliced meat was just ok there. Went next for a tasteless cinnamon bun and hot chocolate at a tiny stop with zero atmosphere. Last stop was a waffle ( after a cinnamon bun! ). The place only had 6 seats all infested by bees. We couldn’t even stay there to eat All 6 left tour prematurely! Who wants two desserts in a row with hardly any food on a FOOD TOUR? Insane disappointment for a lot of money With that being said, Alicia was very nice. It wasn’t her fault.

This was a great tour, the guide Shaf was very nice and he explained everything about the food, area and norwegian culture, he also answered every one of our questions. The food was amazing, they were able to offer options to a peschetarian like me, I especially enjoyed the fish cake and Norwegian waffles. 100% recommendable

Shaf was a great tour guide. Great reindeer stew, charcuterie plate with beer. Walked the neighborhood, hot/cold chocolate, cinnamon bun. Finally a waffle. Very informative. About 3 hour tour.
