This has to be the most accessible and best value way of getting out onto the stunning Derwent Water this summer. We will paddle past the historic Derwent Isle, and see the historic mansion and maybe tell some of the bizarre tales of its most famous owner Lord Joseph Pocklington!

Led by fully qualified local instructors, you will learn new skills, have fun, and explore some unique locations.

Suitable for all abilities, this activity is perfect for anyone up for a challenge, and who doesn't mind the occasional splash down into the lake!

We will meet you down by the lake shore, looking out over the beautiful Derwent Water. After a quick change into the supplied high quality full length wetsuit, we will allocate you your paddle board and head out onto the water. After covering the basic safety rules we will start to teach you the skills required to control the Paddle Board and head out onto Derwent Water - the 'Jewel of the Lakes'. Using the shelter provided by Derwent Isle, we can help even complete beginners get to grips with the board, and soon you will be standing up ready to explore further out onto the lake. For the more experience - or quick learners - we will leave the shelter of the island and go and have a paddle out into the more challenging conditions found further out of the lake. Surround by mountains, this is one of the most beautiful lakes to paddle on in the whole of Cumbria - if not the UK!

My two children attended a SUP taster session during the school holidays led by instructor J. Absolutely amazing experience from first booking right through to the end of the SUP session. J explained things to them very well and they were confident to give things a try under his expert guidance. They had such a good time the first thing they asked was if they could do it again, I would definitely book them another session the next time we are visiting Keswick. Thanks especially to J for making the session so enjoyable and informative for them.

Paddleboarding was a fabulous way to experience the stunning beauty that surrounds Keswick. Andy also shared some interesting information about the buildings that could be seen from the water. Great fun - would definitely recommend! Thank you!

Great taster session expertly led by instructor J. Safety and basics all explained prior to going on the water. J was extremely patient whilst the real novice tried to come to terms with the board. J also provided a guided tour and knowledge of the area whilst we paddled away. Great fun and now look forward to trying again.

We booked a paddle boarding session for my husband and 15 yr old son online. The process was really easy and quick. We had lots of messages and information sent to us on the few days before which was really helpful. They asked our wetsuit sizes before hand so all the equipment was ready when we arrived. Toby was a great teacher and really helped my son out as this was his 1st time. The equipment was perfect condition and they had a fantastic time. Definitely recommend

J our instructor was super patient with a family that had children with additional needs, taking control and ensuring the children were safe, even when the parents paddled off and left them screaming. J ensured that the entire group were looked after and despite the tantrums and screams we enjoyed the experience. Excellent tuition and we felt safe throughout the whole afternoon.
