Sit back and relax on 1.5 hour trip from Papagayo, Tamarindo, and Flamingo Beach; the tour will travel through authentic villages and plantations of sugar cane , melon, cashew, and watermelon until reaching the picturesque village of Bolsón .
Your adventure includes a local expert as your guide. You will take a 2-hour boat safari on the Tempisque River, the longest river in Guanacaste.
Be sure to have your camera ready to capture the wildlife, such as three types of monkeys (howler, spider, and capuchin), American crocodiles ,fish, and migratory birds. After the boat safari, a typical Costa Rican lunch awaits you, followed by a demonstration of how the Chorotega native people manually crafted pottery.
Pick-up and drop-off in Tamarindo, Flamingo, and the Papagayo area.

5.00Our guide Juan Carlos was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour very worthwhile for our family. Guzman, our driver, also was great at navigating us back and forth. We saw many animals on the river tour. Spotting large crocodiles and howler monkeys were the highlights. Definitely recommended!

5.00We took this experience with our professional guide JC, and our driver Fernando. Everything was amazing, we saw lots of wildlife such as American Cocodriles, fishing birds, 3 types of monkeys, lizards and much more. The lunch was delicious. Thanks Blue Zone Tours.

5.00Juan Carlos was an excellent guide on our bus and boat tour to Palo Verde in July 2024. His knowledge of the flora and fauna of Costa Rica were outstanding. We saw 2 types of monkeys, many different species of birds, awesome crocodiles, with the add of our knowledgeable boat captain, who worked hand in hand with Juan Carlos. Add in a rustic lunch at a local farm and the day was truly memorable. Blue Zone and Andres are the best!

5.00We had such an amazing time on this tour! Our guide Juan Carlos knows so much about the wildlife and you can really tell he cares about the nature, history, and people of Costa Rica. The driver, the boat driver, and our guide were all so nice to help point out some amazing animals. We saw a ton of monkeys, alligators, and different types of birds. The farm portion beforehand is also great - with such interesting scenery and information. Highly recommend!

5.00Our guide Juan Carlos was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw lots of monkeys, water birds, other birds including a mackaw. Lunch and pottery demonstration were ver enjoyable.

5.00Completely worth it! Our family loved seeing the monkeys and birds! We even had some monkeys come to the boat! David was a great guide and helped us see everything on the water! Oh and having the captain get the crocodile cow to the boat was the highlight! Lunch was great, bud ride wasn’t too bad either!
Great half day excursion! Lots of animals to see! Would love to go back in higher water season.

5.00We had a mother daughter excursion this day of our family trip while the other part of our group went fishing. Juan Carlos was our guide. This was our second tour with him as we liked his knowledge and demeanor so much that we requested him again. The bus driver was great and a safe driver. Juan Carlos was super about pointing out all the animals we saw and descibing them. This was one of the many reasons I requested him again. The water was a little low so that restricted some of the areas we could travel but we still managed to see loads of different birds, crocodiles(even a massive one chasing a smaller one) and lots of monkeys. This would be a great tour during the wetter months if you truly are into animals.

5.00Carlos’ education makes him ideal for this excellent experience. Air conditioned car, then boat and a local restaurant make this a fantastic tour, well worth every penny!
