On our tour we bring the fascinating medieval Brunswick back to life in its alleys, tweets and clints. In the Middle Ages Braunschweig was an important trading town and a member of the Hanseatic League. Under the Welf duke Henry the Lion, it developed into a powerful and influential city in the 12th century.
Discover with us unique half-timbered houses, medieval marketplaces and an ancient, still preserved and hidden defensive passage.
Our walk begins at the historic Baker's Club. Passing the time-honoured Martino-Katharineum grammar school with its famous students, you will pass the medieval Old Town Market to the Jakob-Kemenate. Now it is not far to the Bone Hauerstrasse. After a short stop we continue to the picturesque Michaelisviertel, which has its own exciting stories to tell.
