  Jonathan gives a wonderful tour of Quito! Our tour guide was knowledgeable, considerate and was a great tour guide of Quito. He showed us great locations and took some beautiful pictures for us. Highly recommend the tour with Jonathan.

  Both Lizbeth and Luis were very helpful and pleasant throughout the day. Lizbeth even allowed me to go for breakfast, which wasn't planned. She did warn me that I might not be able to ride the teleferico, because the weather looked iffy. Fortunately, we were able to do that, one of the highlights of the day. The whole day was a great experience.

  One of the best private tours I have been on. Jonathon was absolutely fantastic and has so much knowledge. As a solo traveller he made exploring fun and easy. I learned so much about the area, timely pick up etc, professional and great conversations. Highly recommended.

  Our guide Johnatan was weary knowledgeable, energetic and polite. Javier was our driver and he was very patient and careful driver. We got to visit so many places in one day, it was really worth it!

  Great tour around the city. We hit all the highlights we wanted to see and Juan was a great guide who taught us a lot about Quitos history. I would highly recommend this tour.

  We had an outstanding day with Jeff. So glad we booked a private tour, as Jeff took the time to talk to us about what we enjoy in a tour, and curated one that was both meaningful and memorable. Instead of two churches, which we had already seen, we went to a local market and sampled fruit, pork and delicious smoothies. Jeff treated us to a ‘limpia’ or cleaning session, where a woman used a bundle of herbs and an egg to renew our energy. It was fascinating, and we both felt “lighter” after. Next we went up the cable car; amazing views and we learned interesting cultural, historical and geographical information from Jeff. After, we took a side trip up to see an important Quito landmark, the Virgin of El Panecillo. We weren’t able to see it the day before, as the Hop On Hop Off bus was unable to go there due to a mudslide. So glad Jeff took us there. Next, we headed to the Middle of the World. Instead of going to Mitad Del Mundo Monument and Museum, we went to the Intiñan Equator Museum, 240 meters away, and where the actual equatorial line runs. It was informative and interactive. We finished the day by having tasty empanadas at a nearby restaurant, and the combo we chose included morocho, a delicious warm drink made of white corn, milk, white sugar and cinnamon. It was the perfect way to end our day with Jeff. We highly recommend this private tour; thank you Traveller’s Magic and Jeff.

  

  

  

  

• Quito tour despite the rain!

  We set up this private city tour of Quito before leaving home. We had 2 days in Quito before heading to the Galapagos. Our guide Jonathan and driver James met us at our hotel at the prearranged time. Unfortunately for us it was a rainy day and we were unable to go to the cable car, but the rest of our tour was as planned. We had no idea Quito is such a sprawling city and our driver maneuvered through with ease. Jonathan's English was excellent and he imparted his knowledge of Ecuador clearly and enthusiastically answering every question we put to him. We learned a lot about the Amazon region where Jonathan is from. Our tour of the Intinan Equator Museum was very interesting and for me was the highlight of our tour (not raining at the time). The Basilica del Voto Nacional had stained glass windows to rival anything in Europe. There was a nominal admission fee for the museum and basilica. We were glad to get out of the rain for a while when we went for our chocolate tasting experience at Yumbos Chocolate. Everything being considered this was a very worthwhile tour! We just wish it had not been raining. At the end of our tour we asked Jonathan if he was booked for the next day because we would gladly have gone on another tour to see more of the areas outside of the city.

  We had an exceptional experience exploring Old Town and Half the World on our tour. We opted to skip the Cable Car due to clouds so spent extra time in Old town. Our guide Grace is o e of the best tour guides that we have had. She was knowledgeable, interesting and extremely helpful in sharing local information. Would highly recommend her and this tour.

  The Guide, Jefferson is like a friend showing us around, gives us a lot of information. He guides us to see places at our own pace. It is an enjoyable day with him. Great thanks.
