Sólheimajökull is a raw and rugged outlet glacier in an ever changing environment.
Surrounded by beautiful mountain range it slowly but steadily crawls forward, giving our experienced glacier guide a new challenge every day! His aim is to get us away from the crowd, finding nooks and corners to explore on our own; walking between deep crevasses, amazing ice formations, jagged ridges and spine-tingling sinkholes!
Our Private Glacier Walk is ideal for those who love to hike, both beginners and experienced hikers.

5.00We had a wonderful time with our guide, Alberto, on our day tour of the south coast and glacier hike! As it was our only trip to the south coast during our visit, he was kind enough to manage our time well and take us to a few other iconic sights as well during our time. We greatly appreciated his expertise and patience. We also noticed his attention to safety and best practice while on the glacier through technique reminders and encouragement which put Alberto a notch above the rest of the guides we saw on the glacier that day. Also many thanks to our driver, Viggo, for the very courteous service in providing us with transport from Reykjavík! This was one our favorite experiences throughout a four-week honeymoon and could not recommend this group more.

5.00We had an incredible time during this hike. Our guide Alberto is a professor of this glacier and Iceland in general, plus a fantastic human being. The glacier itself gives you an incompatible feeling you haven't experienced before. Worth every second of our life. Thank you ! Enjoy!

5.00This gem of a trip involves a 3 hour hike (it passed in a blink of an eye and we are not big hikers) on the glacier with special gear that gives you a taste of hiking on ice. The only variable is truly the guide- we were very lucky- Our guide was simply amazing- Alberto Marini (#ice_albe). Alberto explained simply and clearly the history of Iceland’s glaciers and their present and future while safely and patiently conducting us through varied levels of terrain. He took great photos (sorry couldn’t upload many as limited size permitted). He got us all drunk with his positive energy, invigorating fresh air & crystal clear glacier water we drunk from at the top in a Viking push-up position. Alberto was prepared for everything, kept safety first and was just cool. This trip is a must do if go to Iceland and if you can try to get Alberto as your guide as he walks you through his “ backyard playground” making you look and feel like a pro. Thanks Alberto for a life time of great memories! 🙏💪🏻
