Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

My husband and I couldn’t thank Mr Huu Thu(Manager) enough for this memorable tour. From Day 1 when I made my inquiry to end of tour Mr Huu Thu remains consistent with his prompt response to my email. He helped us secured EVISA when we are having difficulty with online application. He messaged me a week before the tour for update. Another message a day before to give the name and contact # of our tour guide. He not only provided us with a knowledgeable tour guide ( Bao) who speaks good english but also ensures that we had a safe vehicle for the day. Mr Long. ( our driver) safeguards our well being for the entire trip with his attentiveness to road safety. The vehicle is comfortable and clean that can accommodate my wheelchair. Bao and Mr Long arrived at the port on time. Both greeted us with a warm welcome. We learned so much about HCM in one day from the knowledge shared by Bao. He gives us time to explore each attraction and pay attention to details. This dynamic duo caters to our personal needs and attraction preferences. This tour is highly recommended to all ages and all ethnicities.Physically challenged and seniors will find this tour very helpful.

We had a great time with Den as our guide. He tailored the itinerary to match our interests and helped us to learn about the history and culture of Vietnam. We felt like we were able to see everything and he even took us to authentic local places for coffee and lunch - which were great! We highly recommend!

We had an amazing tour with Winnie. She picked us up at the port and gave us a fantastic tour of the Independance palace, post office, war museum, Ba Thanh Market and Notre Dame Cathedral among other places. It was a long drive there and back, but Winnie made it so entertaining along the way that we didn't mind. She was really good, and had so much to tell us, and we all had a great time!!
