Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Saigon Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

5.00Du was enthusiastic , friendly and knowledgable. He asked us what we wanted to see and also suggested less well known places which we enjoyed. We feel we saw all the main sites and had a great impression of HCM in a day. Our driver, ‘Mr Black’, was safe, calm and friendly in the very busy traffic. Thanks for allowing us to make the most of our limited time ashore.

5.00We really enjoyed seeing the city during one day we had while at port during our cruise. Nhan was our tour guide and made sure to communicate via WhatsApp and arrange coming early to start our day. We ended up customizing our tour and he was excellent to communicate and plan the day based on what we desired to see. He made sure we had time at each stop and also made sure we had water and access to bathrooms (very important!) his English was excellent and he had great knowledge about the city and its history as well as a good sense of humour. We really had a great memory of Ho Chi Minh thanks to Nhan.

5.00The tour itself was fantastic. Hina and our driver were excellent. Hina explained everything about the history of the places we visited and took us to a local restaurant for a local dish and then to a tucked away coffee shop for egg coffee. We had an amazing day, with Hina going above and beyond to make our day, including taking pics of us at each stop. The team then made sure we were back at the ship with plenty of time to spare. Highly recommend.

5.00We had a great day with Jin our tour guide in Saigon . We visited all the places listed and had an unforgettable lunch . Jim pointed out all places of interest and great spots to shop.Our driver was excellent and safe . i recommend this tour.Ask for Jim!

5.00An exceptional day with our private guide Olivia Trang who is perfectly bilingual (English). In addition, she knows the story at her fingertips and answered all our questions. She was listening to us and we visited all the places she offered us and wanted. It’s a city with a lot of traffic so she took care to organize our day so that we could see as much as possible and try the boat stress-free in time. Thank you again for this beautiful day I recommend it to all

5.00The drive is a llloonnnggg way from the pier! Barney was so amazing, informative and made the day fly!! He was so knowledgeable but not pushy. I loved every minute. Even the drive from the pier. He let us pick what we wanted to do so I didn’t feel like a number, he was so invested. Will let all of our friends and family to use Barney on Viator. So pleased with the whole experience!
Amazing day! Wish we had more days in Vietnam.

5.00What an amazing day! Anna was our guide and Long our driver. Bus was clean, cool and comfortable, always felt safe with Long. Anna was very organized and kept us on time. We saw so much! Would have like to have more time for bargain shopping at the Saigon “Mall” but that was our fault. 5 star day!!
