Begin your local French culinary experience with a walk through the town's open farmer's market (if you choose the market tour option) with your host, a passionate foodie. Meet Alexia's favorite vendors, discover regional organic produce and locally crafted cheese and purchase a few ingredients that you will use during your cooking class.
Return to Alexia's home kitchen in her Bohemian chic apartment in a leafy and peaceful residential neighborhood of Annecy with a view of the mountains. During your cooking demonstration, watch as Alexia prepares a modern, globally influenced French meal - dishes such as local ricotta cheese with herbs or a beet spread on organic sourdough, salad (Alexia style) and farm-raised chicken with Thai flavored vegetables and rice - that you will share together at the dining table over wine.

We offer food experiences in local homes, not a professional cooking class in a cooking studio. Learn to cook in a home kitchen and share a meal with your local hosts over laughter and conversation.
Your host has a pet cat, but if you have allergies, she is happy to arrange for her cat to stay at a friend’s home during your experience. She will also do her best to ensure the apartment is thoroughly cleaned and free of cat hair in advance. However, please note that the space may not be entirely allergen-free.

If you choose the market tour, visit the Old Town market on Tue and Fri and the Boulevard Taine market on Sat. Walk through an open farmer’s market with Alexia and meet her favored farmers. Discover organic regional produce and locally crafted cheeses, learn how to choose the freshest produce and purchase a few ingredients for your cooking class. Your market tour will last about one hour before walking back 15 minutes to Alexia’s apartment. At Alexia's home sip a refreshing drink and join her in her kitchen to learn to cook a modern, globally influenced French meal from recipes that Alexia has created herself. Your cooking demonstration will last about an hour and a half. Please note that this is not a hands-on class, rather a cooking demonstration where you will watch your host prepare three dishes from scratch, as Alexia's kitchen is small. Discover the techniques that Alexia employs while creating your French meal and enjoy learning about modern French cuisine before you sit down to share a meal. This host offers 3 experience options: Meal only, Cooking Class + Meal and Market Tour + Cooking Class + Meal. You can select the exact experience type when making your booking.

5.00This was easily one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Annecy. Cooking Class with a Local felt incredibly authentic and personal from start to finish. Our host, Alexia, was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about connecting with others. From the moment we met her, she made us feel completely at ease, like we were visiting a friend rather than attending a tour. Watching her cook was fascinating, and the meal itself was incredible - fresh, creative, and full of flavor. Sitting down together to enjoy the food and wine while chatting with Alexia was the perfect ending to the experience. More than anything, Alexia herself made this unforgettable. She’s warm, knowledgeable, and such a delight to spend time with. If you’re visiting Annecy and want something intimate, delicious, and genuinely local, this experience is a must.

She is a lovely person to chat with and her cooking is fresh, local, healthy, and incredibly delicious. 5.00Alexia was welcoming and wonderful! We arrived at her home at 10AM. Everything was cozy and her cooking is amazing. She made several dishes from scratch using recipes of her own imagination and many local ingredients. Each one was delicious! If you are looking for a fun and unique family dining experience, Alexia is the person to see!

5.00I had a lovely day with Alexia. We went to the market and picked up all the produce we needed, then walked to her apartment where she demonstrated her cookery skills. Alexia is very committed to natural foods and uses a lot of seeds, grains, spices and organic ingredients. We had a delicious lunch and a good chat. At the market Alexia introduced me to her preferred suppliers. She also gave me recommendations for restaurants and other shops. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with her.

5.00What a relaxing day! Our first stop was a bustling farmers market with peak season fruits, vegetables, fresh fish, and artisan cheeses and breads. After collecting the ingredients, Alexia, our chef/ guide, welcomed us back to her home where she prepared the best meal we've had. Each dish was thoughtful, delicious, and healthy. She shared tips on where to gather spices, how to balance ingredients, and introduced some new ingredients that are now must haves for our kitchen. This is a must-do tour! We are so glad to have met Alexia. She's an excellent chef.
