  Jesus was an amazing guide! Fortaleza did not disappoint; it was both informative and fun. The town of Tequila itself is beautiful and vibrant. Highly recommend.

  If you’re going to Tequila, Jalisco I would highly recommend getting a private tour. The experience was 10 out of 10 as there were all pro’s and no cons, based on our experience. Based on experiencing Tequila for the first time and on everything we saw, I would highly recommend booking a private tour. Jesus, our tour guide, made the experience simply amazing!!! Jesus communicated to us the itinerary the day before giving us ample time to prepare for the day. Jesus spoke perfect English and along the way to the city of Tequil, educated us on the history of tequila (the city and drink), how to drink tequila, and how tequila is made. Jesus ensured we were all doing good at every point of the tour and ensured everyone in our group had everything we needed ( water, snacks etc.). Jesus prepared us mentally on every step of the tour. He was quick to ensure the group did not get bothered by other tour vendors while in tequila, which was pleasant as there are an exaggerated amount of vendors at tequila. He gave us amazing food and tequila recommendations. Furthermore he always verified the group was having a good time. His attention to detail, and tentativeness was exceptional! It felt like we started the day off as strangers and left like family based on how well we got to know each other. Hands down, when booking with Koyote tours, request Jesus as you will not regret it!

• Fun and freedom in Tequila

  Not what I was expecting but a great time nonetheless. Less of a tour, more like booking a driver for the day. Very friendly, great driver, a little English (to match our little Spanish). He took us to Fortaleza (a must-visit, absolutely outstanding) and then let us do what we wanted. We had an appointment at Arette (must go) and then he took us for lunch and drinks at a roadside spot. Delicious molcajete. Then back to Guadalajara. We loved the freedom and were comfortable with limited English, but if you’re looking for a structured day this may not be for you. It was definitely for us - highly recommended.

  This distillery makes tequila the old fashioned way and it shows. The tour included the entire distillery the blue agave fields and a climb to a fabulous lookout viewing the entire property. Our guide Estrella spoke both English and Spanish and was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the Sauza family now making tequila like their ancestors did 100 years ago. It shows in the quality and taste of their product. As a side note I was particularly impressed with the fields of corn and other vegetables as well as a stock of chickens, ducks and sheep used to support the diet of the employees and their families.

  Jesus was a phenomenal tour guide!!!! I learned so much about Tequila history of jalisco. Other tours were passing through while I had plenty of time to ask questions and sample Tequila. Fortaleza did not disappoint, you'll learn about the family's history and see what separates their products from some of the larger brands. You'll definitely leave with an appreciation of their process. Although its one of the higher priced tours, I got more than my money's worth.

  I can’t say enough good things about this tour company and our guide, Jesus. We booked the Fortaleza distillery tour, which also included a visit to a second distillery and ended with a stop at Cantaritos. From the start, Jesus was punctual, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. On the drive, he gave us a fascinating history of tequila that really set the tone for the day. The second distillery was a hidden gem—Jesus gave us a private tour and walked us through their entire process with such detail and passion. After the Fortaleza tour, he took us into the town of Tequila, where he showed us the main historical sites before we stopped for a delicious lunch. Cantaritos was a blast, and thanks to Jesus and his local know-how, we skipped the long lines and got right in. When my husband mentioned he was hungry later, Jesus made a quick stop at a taco spot that served some of the best tacos we had on the trip! I highly recommend this tour company—especially Jesus. When we return to Guadalajara, we will absolutely be booking another day tour with him!
