The experience will be a fun and informative one. Your guide has extensive experience in tours, entertainment and loves communication with people. The tour gives you a very good background to South Africa and the Apartheid History. Your guide will tell you personal stories of his experiences in South Africa that will fill in all the blanks that wont be seen at museums. Shane is the author of White Boy. A book about a boy growing up in SA during the apartheid era.

He will include on the tour many stories about South Africa and his experiences. This is an educational tour of a 3rd generation South African. The Apartheid museum is a world class museum.

The Constitutional Court is a unique opportunity to visit the highest court in our country. The prison will round off your SA experience

Vilakazi Street

Vilakazi Street is where Nelson Mandela and Bishop Tutu Houses are. There is also a number of restaurants. we drive through the area giving you an idea of what makes Soweto tick.

Mandela House

During our drive to Soweto we will give you a good general idea of the township including history and interesting facts. We will also include information on Mandela House, shanty towns and security. We will drop you at the Mandela house in Soweto,this is our first stop. You then pay your entry fee and a guide will accompany you on the tour. The cost of the tour is R 100. When you are finished we will go to the next stop in Vilakazi street.

Shane was an excellent guide. We learned so much about the history, the government, the economy and more on our tour with him. He is a delightful person and we enjoyed our time with him very much!

We had a brilliant time on our tour and seen a lot of sights in a short period of time. Our guide, Shane, was very knowledgeable and took us to the sights at the right times to avoid any queues. Shane took photos of us at the various sights so we didn’t have to at the time and gave us a great restaurant recommendation. As first time visitors to Johannesburg, we greatly appreciated Shane’s knowledge of the area and felt very safe on the trip. We learned so much about South African history and would highly recommend this tour!

Interesting half-day tour with Shane through the Soweto neighborhood and the Mandela house. The visit to the Apartheid Museum was interesting and overwhelming. The visit to the Constitutional Court was very interesting. Shane gave us a lot of background information about South Africa and its history, without going into too much detail. We really enjoyed it.
The combination of a relaxed Mood, interesting information and beautiful views made this an unforgettable place to stay

Our tour with Shane was truly a fantastic experience! From the first moment everyone felt welcome and at ease. Shane is not only incredibly friendly and welcoming, but also a real connoisseur of the area. He told with great enthusiasm and humour about the history, culture and special stories that you hear nowhere else. What made this tour extra special was that Shane was perfectly suited to our interests. He took the time to answer questions and made sure we got to the most beautiful places – some even real hidden gems we never found ourselves.

Did the half day tour with Shane. I found him to be friendly, punctual, personable and knowlegeable. He gave great local insights and facts on many things. I also very much appreciated that he was able to personalize the tour itenerary and time frame for me. Would recommend to anyone looking for a short (or longer) tour in the region. Thanks Shane

We took a tour of Johannesburg with Shane. Shane picked us up at 2 different hotels and we headed out. We hit the highlights recommended by Shane as we were open to anything. Saw the Mandela house, Constitution Hill, and the Apartheid Museum. Shane was a great guide and we enjoyed learning what he had to share. Highly recommend.

I was referred by a friend who had a tour with Shane just a few days prior. Communication was great from beginning to end. The tour ended up being private tour and was a wonderful last minute addition to my trip Shane is full of knowledge and has a great love for Johannesburg and South Africa. I definitely would have missed out on a lot of history if he hadn't shown me around. The tour schedule helped us avoid the crowds and the lines at each site. The staff at all of the tour sites know him and are friendly with him. Shane took photos at various locations so I didn't have to and even messaged me some tips for places to eat and see for later on during my trip.
