Learn to surf on Maui. Our friendly and experienced instructors will have you up and riding waves during your 2 hour class. The private surf lesson is a great class for one-on-one attention and support from your surf coach. This class is recommended if you have surfed before or if you would like 100% attention from your surf coach. You will progress quicker with a private lesson. We have a water photographer available to capture your surf session (additional rates apply). We provide your board, lycra surf shirt, and reef shoes.

Surfers will do a short land lesson before going into the water with their instructors. All gear provided, including a lycra surf shirt and surf shoes. Please arrive well rested and hydrated, *Drink plenty of water before your session.

Had an amazing experience with Surf Club Maui. I took a private lesson, which was great - I got to ride a lot of waves and received a lot of help. It was a wonderful experience. The group lessons also seemed to have a great time. They give you a rash guard and swim shoes (its rocky, so you need them). Everyone was nice and helpful. You can also purchase a photo package, which allowed me to capture some nice photos of my time on the waves.

Great private lesson! Freddy was very diligent and informational and fun! Check in staff was very helpful and friendly with restaurant and beach suggestions. We bought the photos and they are great! Aloha!

Thanks to Bryan and all the staff, this was a great class to learn to surf. They adapted to our different levels of surfing.

It was so much fun and our instructor David H was amazing. He got us standing up in no time which was great for our first time. Definitely buy the rash guard's so you don’t run against the board.

Best experience possible. Our five year old went in with no knowledge about surfing and came out of the lesson - not only surfing but wanting bigger and more waves! Thanks to the fabulous instructor david who made this possible- and thanks to the wonderful photographers Jonny and Kai who captured the whole surfing experience from start to finish. We will treasure those memories!

The most amazing time surfing with my girls. (13, 15 ). Our instructor was incredible and had my girls doing tricks by the end of the lesson. Icing on the cake was the turtles popping up all around us. The girls said 10 out of 10 best day ever!!!

My son and I took a private class together. He is 14. I am 65. Nether of us had surfed before. He got right up. After a few more runs I stood up briefly a couple times. I would like to go out again. We had a gas! Brian was our instructor and was great. I also sprung for the photographer who took some great pics. Well worth it!

Amazing experience with Surf Club Maui. My daughter and I were totally new, and we worked with Turtle for two amazing lessons. Kind, solid instruction, a great sense of fun, serious depth of experience from the instructors, and an all around wonderful time. My daughter is hooked (and even by the end of lesson one was getting into the shore), I'm frantically looking around for yoga classes to get myself in better surfing shape, and we are so inspired we already have plans for this summer. Couldn't ask for a better start to surfing for either of us. You can't ask for better!

Turtle was a great instructor! Both kids learned to surf quickly. Kai got some great shots of them. They liked it so much that we booked a second lesson.

First time to Hawaii!!! Kids have always wanted to try surfing. We booked the private lesson with “Turtle” and the experience was beyond amazing!!! He had my 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter surfing within 15 minutes. The pictures that the crew got were priceless!!! Kids said it was one of their favorite experiences in Hawaii!!! Would highly recommended!!!
