Our routes mainly consist of paths traveled by mountain dwellers. They offer varying levels of physical difficulty and showcase different ecosystems. These routes are often associated with cultural legends or abundant biodiversity.

El Valle de Antón has an extensive network of trails through the mountains surrounding the caldera. These trails are primarily used by artisanal producers and farmers from the surrounding communities. We encourage you to explore interpretive circuits along some of these paths, which are perfect for observing and learning from nature, discovering local biodiversity, getting some exercise, and enjoying beautiful landscapes. Whether you're interested in short or long journeys, there are options available for different levels of physical activity. We recommend bringing appropriate clothing and shoes for the activity, such as long clothing for exploring the forest, plenty of water, insect repellent and/or sunscreen, a hat and/or poncho, and, of course, your camera. The best time to start your adventure is between 7 and 9 am, but afternoon departures are also available between 2 and 3 pm.

5.00The hike with Carlos was fantastic. We hiked up to the Mirador Cerro el Gaital. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the local nature, and you can truly feel his passion for the flora and fauna. It was wonderful to hike and chat with him. I even got to see a sloth, many birds, ants, native bees, and beautiful plants. Thank you so much!

5.00Cerro Gaital is one of the most challenging and spectacular hikes in the Antón Valley. Its steep ascent offers breathtaking views and a unique connection to nature. For a safe and enriching experience, Carlos, a local guide, is the best choice. Its knowledge of the trail and biodiversity make the route even more fascinating. Tip: Wear hiking shoes, water and start early. The top is worth it!

5.00Hiked the India Dormida Trail. Our guide Carlos gave our group several options on what we wanted to experience. The trail was a little challenging but a great experience. Carlos was very knowledgeable about the area and the environment. He pointed out interesting things along the trail which added to the experience. Since it was our first time in the area we were glad that we took this tour with a guide since it would have been more of a challenge trying to navigate it ourselves.

5.00Carlos is a great guide, knowledgable about the local area and practices, as well as passionate about the environment and el Valle Anton. He offered us different walking options based on our preferences, and took us to some of the lesser walked areas in addition to popular viewpoints and tracks. It's a great experience and I'd recommend to anyone travelling to the area.

5.00We absolutely loved our experience with Carlos. He is extremely knowledgeable about so many fascinating topics, including, biodiversity, history, science, and sustainable agriculture. We wanted a challenging yet family friendly hike with our 8 year old twins and 6 year old and he great options for us. His warm and easy-going nature made our kids feel really comfortable with him and piqued their interest in nature and history. We have done many hikes as a couple and a family and Carlos was one of the very best guides.

5.00The Trail of La India Dormida was just beautiful. But in this review we have to talk about how amazing is Carlos. Such a welcoming , warming , and kind person with plenty of knowledge about the geology, history, and culture of Panama, will make of this experience the most special for you in this trip to El Valle de Anton. If you are thinking of an activity to do, this is the one. Don’t think it more and just book your activity with Carlos . I promise that you won’t regret it !
