Golconda Fort

We head out to Golconda, located 11 km away from the Hyderabad City. The Golconda fort is arguably the greatest hill fortress of India. Built in AD 1143 as a mud fort, it was fortified between the 14th and 17th centuries and served as the principle Palace of the Bahmani Sultans and the Qutb Shahi dynasty. Our guide will bring alive the history of this Fort and how it shaped the future of Hyderabad and its people.

Qutub Shahi Tombs were erected in the memory of the old kings of Golconda. The arch, columns, dome minarets, and galleries look exquisite and are surrounded by gardens called Ibrahim Bagh. As per legend, these tombs were revered during the rule of the Qutub Shahi Kings and even criminals taking refuge here were pardoned.

A great experience. We wanted to learn history and culture and we got lots of both. Our guide, Srinu was very knowledgeable and prepared a tour adapted to our interests. Our driver Rafic was efficient, punctual and respectful. They were a great team. I highly recommend them.

It was a great tour. All went as per the plan. Srinu, our guide provided lots of historical context and was always receptive to our questions. We appreciated he would offer alternatives so that we could match to our preferences. Rafic, our driver, could manage to drive us smoothly (considering the special traffic 😊). Kudos to both!

Srinu and our driver took us all around the Hyderabad area and showed us many interesting sites including the Golconda fort, Chowmallah palace, and the Chaminar. He is very knowledgeable and personable, I would strongly recommend a tour with him.

Saints is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide - the best of the best. He is very well educated, speaks perfect English and has a certain charisma with people and officers to get you in anywhere quickly. Amazing experience! Mohan was very knowledgeable, and was able to speak fluently with my family in both Telugu and English. We opted to trek to the top of Golkonda, it was a bit of a hike but worth the views. The old city and bazaar was bustling with lots of people and a real immersive experience. Highly recommend the tour especially with Mohan as your guide.

We had the very best time! Mohan was so informed about all the historical sites & the best local chai! Would recommend to anyone looking to explore the city! Mohan was the best part of the tour. Great communication! Happily took pictures, made sure we had bathroom stops, snack breaks and water! Over all extremely kind and enjoyable to be around!
