Our tours are done on a purpose built 46' Power Catamaran, powered by twin Yamaha f250hp outboard motors, configured with lots of seating, both sun and shaded areas, an elevated flybridge for better spotting whales from a distance, marine toilet and PA Microphone system for crystal clear narration of the tour by our on board marine biologist. We have a hydrophone on board which we will drop into the water and see if the whales will give us a song.
Board the boat at the beach and head out to an area that we have had many sightings in search of some whale activity. Once whales are located we head out to where they are and observe them from a distance being careful not to startle them or disrupt them. Sometimes they will approach the boat and hang around for a while, in these instances one of our guides will get in the water and allow you to accompany him for a closer look and hopefully some photos and videos to help document our visiting whales.

5.00We had an unforgettable day on this tour. We selected a private tour because the rest was sold out, but we are so happy we did! If you are in the area during whale season, it is a must, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We flew in from Provo in the morning (great view of the islands) and flew back with the sunset. Jo found a driver to take us around the island and grab lunch before the boat, so we felt like we saw a lot and, at the same time, were relaxed and not worried about timing. Not only did we see whales, but we enjoyed the amazing opportunity to swim with a mother (Lucaya) and her calf (such beautiful beings!) Every bit of it was just incredible: watching them closely, mom resting in the bottom, baby next to her or playing and turning around for us to see!, and then swimming for a while alongside them! Additionally, every single member of Ocean Vibes crew was a delight to be around: Rosalie was so knowledgeable and eager to share every bit of information and her whale experience with us (we learned a lot!) Our watchful captain, Shine, kept his eyes peeled and on the whales all the time, and alerted us to some of them breaching (jumping with their full bodies over the water) in the distance while we were distracted enjoying snacks (what a breathtaking sight!) Aniel was very helpful getting us in the water and onto the boat and made us feel really safe. And what an unexpected plus was having Max as a photographer on the trip, watching him work underwater (!!), and enjoying chatting with him about his "wild" experiences and photography career! All in all, it was just an amazing day and we felt very well taken care of. A family experience that we will treasure forever. Also, reserving the trip was really easy. Since it was pricey, I felt more comfortable talking to a human being, so I called and received all the information and assurances I needed to make the reservation (especially since we were flying to and from on the day), and it all went perfectly. Our best memory of the whole trip.

5.00We had a fantastic experience with Jo and Rosalie on our Private Whale Watching Tour. We flew over from Provo to do this experience and it did not disappoint. Jo was fantastic at helping us to coordinate details for arrival, pick up, lunch, and departure. She was also incredibly thoughtful thinking ahead about our kids and what would make it a fun time for them - even going so far as to secure a vessel with a slide they would enjoy. Just really fantastic service. The boat was great. Spacious, built for many many more than just the five of us, but we had the full service staff on board. Lunch was great and we had many sightings, great interactions and a smooth experience. Glad we were on a boat with just the five of us, if there had been more we wouldn't have been able to get in the water with the whales at all. As for our whale watching experience, it was truly once in a lifetime. We saw whale activity from the boat - flukes, flippers, breeches even. The marine biologist even put the sonar on microphone so we could hear the males singing. Frankie is an excellent and experienced captain who was able to spot and approach the humpbacks respectfully and skillfully. We certainly had to be patient and had to try more than once but were rewarded with an astonishing opportunity to snorkel with a mother an calf for over 15 mins.

5.00Frankie worked really hard to find whatles for us to see during our shore excursion from a cruise ship. I was so happy that we didn't go on the packed boat from the cruise line because they never found them, which was our experience the first time at this port. Highly recommend Captain Frankie and this charter.
