Discover Rio’s Tijuca Rainforest on a guided jungle hike with waterfalls, caves, and chances to spot wild animals. Perfect for nature lovers seeking an eco-friendly adventure in Brazil’s tropical forest.

Morning pickup is 7:00–7:30 AM year-round. Afternoon pickup: 1:00 PM (May–Oct) or 1:30 PM (Nov–Mar). Times may vary by location; Copacabana is first.

Stay alert for the vibrant wildlife that inhabits the park! While exploring, you might catch a glimpse of cuatis, monkeys, toucans, turtles, frogs, and even sloths. Who knows what surprises nature has in store for you?

The trails range from easy to moderate, with some elevation to reach caves and waterfalls, so basic physical conditioning is recommended. All waterfalls have crystal-clear natural water from the park’s pristine basins.

Tip: We recommend booking on weekdays for a quieter experience and a higher chance of spotting wildlife. However, if the weekend is your only option, don’t worry—you’ll still enjoy an amazing tour!

Wildlife sightings aren’t guaranteed since animals roam freely and are influenced by weather, time of day, and season.

Tour duration may be affected by traffic, especially in a busy city like Rio, where congestion can sometimes extend the tour time. We STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST booking on days with important commitments (flights, tours, etc.) as delays are possible. Morning tours typically offer a smoother experience.

Itinerary is subject to change based on various factors such as the park's regulations, prevailing natural conditions, and the physical capabilities of the group.

From May to October, reduced rainfall can impact the flow of certain waterfalls, affecting the itinerary. Please note that photos are for reference only and may reflect conditions during the wetter months.

Rainy weather does not affect the scheduled tour of the forest, which is known to be more enchanting and lively during such weather. The waterfalls are more magnificent and the chances of spotting wild animals increase during rainfall. Visitors are guaranteed a safe and unforgettable experience in the forest, regardless of the weather conditions.

This experience should not be missed. Steep hike through the rainforest to get to the bat cave, sloths and monkeys, wonderful views of Rio and the icing on the cake was the cool down in the waterfall.

I loved this hike. Tijuca is a must for anyone who enjoys nature and this hike in particular was great!! Eric was an excellent guide who took special care to curate the hike to fit our fitness and adventure levels. It was a pretty easy hike but he gave options for the more adventurous in the group. He also provided us with a lot of details and included great food recommendations for Rio as a plus!

We had several tours in Rio before this one and took Rainforest tour on our last day. Our guide was Eduardo. I am not sure if 20k characters are enough to describe the experience we had. In short it was AMAZING and MAGICAL. Now more specifics: it started with how Eduardo met us at the hotel - he was cheerful and happy, and we felt welcomed right away. He knew so much about the forest, its history and flora and fauna, and was sharing it in a very funny and creative way. He mixed walking on the trails with driving between the points so well, that we never were tiered. He not only was bringing us to the great points with the stunning views, but also was making pictures of us, he knew exactly the points where we need to stay to take a super picture. I also think Eduardo is a monkey whisperer :) as he clearly made monkeys (Capucine) come so close and interacted with them so creatively. He also drove to a different point to attempt showing us a sloth, and we SAW it! The stories about some trees were simply stunning. And the cherry on the cake was the cave. We've been around the world and have seen a lot of different caves, but such a huge cave is rare. Overall, we spent more than 5 hours and did not even notice it - as it was so dynamic, interesting, educational and fun. Eduardo is a nature and Rio enthusiast and that clearly made the difference. We can only say BIG THANK YOU for Eduardo for giving us this gift on our last day in Rio.

Loved this tour! Bernardo was an excellent tour guide. With such a small group, we were able to ask him questions about Brazilian culture, language, food & restaurant recommendations, etc. He took great photos at each tour stop and was gracious in waiting for us to huff and puff up some of the steeper hills in the forest. Would definitely recommend this experience!
