5.00My family (3 adults & 2 children) took this tour in March 2026. We were very pleased. Our driver was Edward and was the best in so many ways. He was a local, very knowledgeable, polite, a safe driver and went at our pace. We went to the Mayan Jungle Sloth & Monkey Rescue Sanctuary. The price of admission was included in our excursion price. The guide at the rescue was kind to the animals, had a great deal of patience with the animals and all of us. He showed us how to get the monkeys and macaws to sit on our shoulders and heads. The sloths were so unique in their movements & behaviors. We were allowed to gently pet the sloths and take pictures with them up close. My grandchildren absolutely loved this adventure. The animals appeared to be well taken care of and the facility was clean. Next, we went to the chocolate place. Our driver directed us to go upstairs, and we received a demonstration about the chocolate making process with the cocoa pods. They also offered a digital picture (FREE) that had an interesting backdrop. We gave a small donation. The frozen chocolate dipped bananas on a stick were very tasty. We also made a stop at the rum location Then, we toured though the west end of the island and the driver offered to take us to a restaurant to eat lunch, but we were not hungry. He also took us to the Roatan sign and took our picture for us. We recommend this tour and the driver Edward. We would do this tour again, if back in Roatan. A great experience!

5.00We had an absolutely incredible experience on the Roatan Wildlife Monkey, Sloth, Chocolate & Rum Tasting City Tour booked through Viator on March 25, 2026! From start to finish, everything was seamless and well-organized. Our guide, Isaiah, truly made the day unforgettable. He was knowledgeable, personable, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt comfortable, engaged, and taken care of. His passion for Roatan and its culture really shined through, and he shared so many interesting insights along the way. The tour itself was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—getting up close with the monkeys and sloths was such a unique and heartwarming experience, and the chocolate and rum tastings were both fun and delicious! Every stop felt thoughtfully planned and never rushed. If you're considering a tour in Roatan, I cannot recommend this one enough—especially if you’re lucky enough to have Isaiah as your guide. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip! Thank you, Viator, for such a memorable experience!

5.00This was a great excursion when getting off the cruise. It was nice to have a private car. Our guide Edward was so friendly and informative, we learned a lot about Roatan and can’t wait to go back! The actual excursion experience was great, our kids loved interacting with the animals! Highly recommend this tour

5.00Our tour guide, Jameli was wonderful. She told us so much about the culture and people of the island. When we arrived at the animal sanctuary, the man running it said our admission wasn't included. Jameli contacted her manager and got everything straightened out immediately. I would do this tour again!

5.00Tour sign was easy to find just outside the port gates. Tour guide arrived quickly, Vincent was great! He explained where we were going, the significance of the areas to locals, answered questions along the way, took photos, and was very professional. As a family of 5, we basically had a private tour since we were in a van. He made sure we had everything we needed, was very friendly and I would 100% recommend. We were back in plenty of time to explore the touristy port area and arrive back on the ship before ship departure. Seeing the sloths and tasting chocolate were definitely our faves outside of seeing and learning about the area itself. 10/10 recommend!

5.00Great experience and exactly as described. Isaiah was a very attentive and accommodating guide who gave us wonderful details about the island and its history, tailored the tour to our interests, and allowed us time to explore - never rushed us at any stop. Transportation exceeded expectations and was cool, clean, and comfortable. The chocolate and rum factories aren’t really factories but shops to buy, although tasting samples were plentiful and the chocolate demonstration was interesting. The highlight was seeing the sloths!

5.00This rum, chocolate, and animal sanctuary tour in Roatán was a highlight of our trip. We had to change our meetup time and they were very accommodating with great communication. Our tour guide, Jeff, was amazing and let us go at our own pace. He even offered to add on additional sights around the island but we had limited time. The rum and chocolate tastings were fun, informative, and delicious, with a great local touch. The animal sanctuary was well cared for, and getting close to monkeys and sloths was unforgettable. A perfect mix of fun and learning—definitely worth it!
