Bird lovers will find this tour very fascinating as many different birds will fly from trees to the ground for you to feed them.( This tour inclusive of entrance fee).
The hummingbirds, the national bird of Jamaica, are part of a special experience as you sit with a bottle of their favorite drink, wait for them to perch on your outstretched finger while you feed them from the bottle. Next, you will take a walk through the garden with the guide to see the different trees and herbs before the tour ends.

Rocklands Bird Sanctuary
The sanctuary is home to thousands of birds from Jamaica and migrant birds who have flown thousands of miles to feed here. The Red-billed Streamertail and Jamaica Mango are so tame that they will come straight to a handheld bottle of sugar water and some will even sit on your finger to feed. Jamaica has 4 resident species of hummingbird, 3 of which can be found at the Rocklands Sanctuary, but the fourth, the Black-billed Streamertail, is found only on the very eastern part of the island. Put some seed on your hand to attract the Black-faced Grassquit, Yellow-faced Grassquit, and Orangequit. See the Bananaquit and Greater Antillean Bullfinch hopping around the feeders. There’s an outdoor patio area where you can sit and watch birds such as the Jamaican Oriole using the feeders. The Common Ground-Dove and Caribbean Dove can be seen around the gardens, looking for the seed provided in the sanctuary.

5.00Our driver, JD, was excellent. He stopped for souvenir shopping, and local food (Scotchies) which was very good & reasonably priced. We were able to stay longer than expected at Rockland Bird Sanctuary where we hand fed hummingbirds & other endemic birds. Great day!

5.00Second time back there is now upper deck area for the hummingbirds and there is no way walking path around the back so it toady today. Can’t wait to explore more when back

5.00We were met at the dock by Bailey who was a great driver and had a very comfortable vehicle. The trip to rockland was very interesting and Bailey made it more enjoyable. The experience at the bird sanctuary was most enjoyable and a unique experience. The trip back was good and Bailey again took us to an outstanding shop so we could get some good souvenirs of Jamacia. It was truely the best part of the cruise.

5.00I loved spending time on the cool mountaintop where all the pretty birdies are happy and well looked after a kind and gentle man named Fritz. He even put some feed on my leg so that the little finches would land on me and catch a snack. But the hummingbirds are phenomenal. They even make a whirring noise when they fly so you'll know when they are nearby. Birds naturally fly away from you. That's why it is so incredible that these wonderful little creatures actually fly to you, land on your out-stretched finger and feed from the little bottles of sugar water. The view of Montego Bay is lovely and picture-worthy. What a wonderful, de-stressing activity and a something you'll never forget. And watch for the friendly little chameleon. It likes a little sweet water as it changes it's colors.
