Morning departure from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, Fotosafari. Lake Manyara, under the Rift Valley escarpment, is home to extremely varied environments, despite its small size (330 square kilometers, of which 200 are occupied by the lake). They range from the dense forests fed by the resurgences that emerge at the foot of the Rift Valley, to the savannahs, to the marshy areas on the lake. Numerous animal species, including large colonies of baboons, vervet monkeys and other species of monkeys, elephants, giraffes and as many as 380 species of birds. Here, during the period from December to March, large flocks of pink flamingos settle, which then migrate towards Lake Natron between June and October. Among the predators are numerous leopards and lions; the latter, annoyed by the humidity of the soil and by insects, have acquired the habit (quite rare among these big cats and found only in a few other areas) of climbing on the branches of trees.

Ngorongoro Crater
Fotosafari in the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is a unique environment, without equal in the world. It is what remains of an ancient volcanic cone, whose summit collapsed about 2.5 million years ago, giving way to the current caldera: a truncated cone, which houses a "frying pan" with a diameter of 16 / 20 km, with raised edges of about 600 m with respect to the bottom, inside which a savannah has developed where more than 25,000 large animals live. All the typical species of the region, with the exception of the giraffes (which do not find nourishment here) live in the Ngorongoro Crater. The edge of the Crater reaches an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level and offers breathtaking views. The outer slopes of the walls are covered by a thick blanket of primary forest. In the evening we reach the central Serengeti.

These days are dedicated to the Serengeti, the most famous of Tanzania and one of the most famous in the world. The Serengeti ecosystem is home to more than 1,500,000 wildebeests, about 300,000 zebras, 500,000 Thompson's gazelles, more than 2,700 lions, 1,000 leopards, 500 cheetahs, huge herds of elephants, elands, impalas, water antelopes, giraffes, ostriches, genette, and the streams are populated by crocodiles and hippos; there are more than 400 species of birds. The 15,000 square kilometers of the Serengeti National Park constitute only the largest portion of a larger ecosystem, which also includes the Ngorongoro Plains (the flat area northeast of the Ngorongoro Crater, which plays a very important role in the famous migration and is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area) and the Maasai Mara (located further north, in Kenya). Here the orography, the composition of the soils and, consequently, the type of vegetation, allow sightings of animals without equal in Africa. The subsoil, constituted (above all in the southern part) by volcanic rocks, prevents in most of the Serengeti the growth of tall trees and the prairies prevail, therefore the open environment favors the sightings. The wildebeest and zebras of the Serengeti, always looking for new pastures and water, are the actors of the largest migratory movement of wild animals in the world.

5.00Thank you Rocco and the Safari Crew Tanzania team for creating such an incredible trip for us in August. This trip had been on our bucket list for a long time and we left Tanzania feeling as though it had more than fulfilled our hopes. Rocco immediately put us at ease beforehand with the organisation of the trip, with an itinerary including Tarangire, Ngorongoro and the northern Serengeti and quality places to stay, even though we were late in the season for booking. Our guide, Protus, was superb. He worked incredibly hard, was knowledgeable, kept us feeling entertained and safe on the long drives. He was always on top of the best locations to see the animals. Ngorongoro was out of this world - so beautiful, and the Serengeti was so vast! We were captivated by the big cats in their intimate surroundings, especially the serene leopard in the trees, and by the sheer numbers of wildebeest on the move, but also by the smaller scale sights like the mongoose family by the airport and the colourful birds. The camps were very comfortable with the really friendly staff, and I want to especially thank the team at the Acacia Farm Lodge and the Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp for the warmth of their welcome. Please pass on our thanks to the young man who gave us the wonderful guide of the coffee plantation at Acacia Farm Lodge. We were always amazed by how the camp chefs could whip up such tasty varied food in remote locations! We would love to go back.

5.00I would leave immediately, trip to Tanzania with the whole family, all adults even over 75,..... perfect organization, professional and prepared guide, excellent use of the Italian language, in addition to the sympathy thanks Hassan (Franco), great locations in camps and villages, considerate and kind staff everywhere........ then great protagonists animals and nature, what about redo the suitcases, family Neri Modena, Italy

5.00It was a beautiful holiday, perfectly organized and even better managed. We arrived at Kilimanjaro airport where our guide, the legendary Naftal (highly recommended), was already there waiting for us. The vehicle, a long wheelbase Jeep, was a godsend... driven by the super Naftal it allowed us to wade through puddles in the Serengeti that looked like lakes (the water reached the height of the window). The accommodation locations chosen, although "low" category, were super clean and more than luxurious. I spent the Safari with friends and my family... we were 4 adults + 3 children aged 6-7-8 years. In the structures that hosted us, everyone was also very attentive to my dietary restrictions and I had no problems in this regard For the tour... what can I say... we saw everything! (except the Rhinoceros)...Lions in love, lionesses with cubs, the great migration of wildebeest, zebras and impalas... Giraffes, ostriches, hyenas, leopards and cheetahs...elephants...as well as a fauna of the skies respectable among eagles and vultures and a myriad of colorful birds! Particular Positive mention to the Serengeti Pure Camp: even though we slept in tents (it takes courage to call them such since they look like villas) the cleanliness was at its highest, and we didn't even have a gnat inside! We left Africa with a piece of our heart still there, but we will definitely return for another tour organized by this agency! Thanks Rocco (owner of the agency) and thanks Naftal (super guide!) 5.00Making the safari was one of our dreams but we did not imagine that it would exceed our expectations. Our local guide, who speaks Italian, was very well prepared and thanks to him we saw a lot of animals. Rocco followed us in the organisation from A to Z, responding to all our needs. Highly recommended.

5.00Great experience. Five days in the middle of nature with the feeling that everything was normal, like at home. Kahim, our guide, always kind and quiet in every situation, the facilities each beautiful in its own way. And also the final treat of lunch at Rocco’s talking about the cultural and social aspects of Tanzania. It's beautiful.

5.00Perfect safari. We organized from Italy with the help of Rocco. We made the Safari the jeep in 6 with local guide speaking Italian, mythical Hassan! He knew very well all the places where we stayed, the local flora and fauna, absolutely recommended. Even the places where we slept were comfortable and above expectations, especially the tented camp in the Serengeti!! Unique experience, great organization, we recommend it.

5.00My husband and I chose Tanzania for our honeymoon because we wanted to realize our dream of Safari. We chose the 5-day route that includes Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti parks. We landed near Arusha at Kilimanjaro airport and our super guide Martiny was waiting for us. Together with him, our adventure began. On the first day, we got to visit a Maasai village, learn about the basic aspects of their culture, how to build their houses, educate the children and participate in one of their traditional dances. We then moved with our guide to Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and finally Serengeti. Martiny was absolutely impeccable, of a professionalism, preparation but also unique humanity. He demonstrated incredible knowledge of every corner of the different parks visited. With his incredible sight, he managed to find the rarest animals where no one would ever find them. We didn't even see them without his help. It allowed us to see the lion and cheetah cubs a few meters from us and to find leopards in trees far away. We also managed to catch a glimpse of a black rhino from afar. All the lodges we stayed in were excellent and the staff super helpful and friendly. We were a bit worried about the food we were going to eat but, fortunately, we were happily surprised. We ate great meals, complete until dessert, both traditional and international. We lived an unforgettable experience that we will carry with us forever. We recommend everyone to visit Tanzania for its incredible naturalistic richness and to choose Safari crew and especially Martiny as a guide! Thanks to Martiny for this amazing experience. Highly recommended!

5.00Ten wonderful days of Safari in the main parks of Tanzania, immersed and in close contact with nature, animals and people who inhabit this land. We organized this incredible holiday less than two months in advance, and Rocco immediately directed us on how to best optimize the time available and fully enjoy what Tanzania has to offer with its Parks. We visited the small but lush nature Arusha National park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater (crazy), the famous and boundless Serengeti and finally the Tarangire with its wonderful Baobabs and elephants. The structures in which we were one more beautiful than the other not to mention people of rare kindness and professionalism. A special mention to our super guide Naftal (who also speaks Italian), punctual and passionate in his work, able to tell you all about parks, animals and people. We hope to reorganize another trip to Africa with you soon. Thank you. Richard
