While San Sebastian’s Old Town is undeniably captivating, it can also get pretty crowded—which is why locals usually head into Centro instead for their pintxos crawls. On this pintxos tour, you’ll join your friendly foodie guide and become an honorary San Sebastian resident for the evening as you eat and drink your way across the neighborhood, experiencing a more authentic side of the Basque Country along the way. From classic pintxos to pleasant surprises most visitors will have never heard of, there’s no better part of San Sebastian to get fully immersed in what’s long been considered one of the best foodie cities in the world.

This event will happen in the Romantic Area neighborhood. The meeting point is accessible only by foot. Most of the experience will be standing up and some spaces can be tight.

Your first pintxos bar is a relaxed neighborhood haunt, bustling with local office workers unwinding over evening drinks. Sink your teeth into the best Spanish omelet in San Sebastian and another contemporary bite, and wash it down with a zurito—a small beer that’s the perfect size to pair with pintxos.
Make your way to a cozy third-generation wine store, a rarity in this part of town. You’ll be welcomed by the friendly owner, who will usher your group into the private back room and pour tastings of their signature homemade blackthorn liqueur. As you enjoy your drink, your guide will share fascinating stories that will immerse you in San Sebastian’s captivating recent history and give you a better understanding of the local culture.

5.00A great little tour away from the tourist bustle of the Old Town. The Pintxos we had were some of the best we have had during our trip to Bilbao and San Sebastian. Ylenia was a superb, engaging and entertaining guide, and took us to a varied selection of places, with various types of pintxos and a very interesting selection of drinks. The little group of 8 were a diverse, friendly group and we all seemed to get on, which all made for a very enjoyable evening. Definitely recommend this trip.

5.00Lily was a fantastic guide. The tour was a nice pace and we visited 5 good bars trying different pitxos and wines. Lily was very informative and obviously is very fond of this beautiful city. Would totally recommend this tour.

5.00Amazing food, beautiful city and great tour guide. We loved this tour - it was the perfect pintos tour with fun surprises! The guide was fantastic and the food was delightful. We had an issues that the company wouldn’t communicate with our guide to let her know we were running a little late due to a train delay so we could meet the group at the second stop. It worked out but the company should have a mechanism to contact the guide. I wouldn’t let this stop you from taking the tour but be aware that if you are a few minutes late you have no recourse.

5.00Gorky was our guide for this tour. He has an insider’s knowledge of San Sebastián, Basque culture, and the neighborhood local food scene. He was friendly, courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and able to communicate a lot of information in a short (3+ hour) pinxto tour of the “new” town. Highly recommend Gorky and this experience!!
