  We were in Walvis Bay with the Aidastella in January and had already booked the 4x4 Jeep Tour in advance at My Shore Excursions. The local provider Sandwich Harbour Tours picked us up right at the port. We had a fantastic morning with our guide Michael, who spoke perfect German and told us a lot about flora and fauna. The ride went up and down the dunes and was very adventurous. Afterwards there was a picnic on the beach before heading back to the ship.

  Great adventure experience with the 4×4 SUVs to drive up and down the big dunes. We have seen pelicans flamingos, springboks and desert foxes. A sparkling wine in hand and a great picnic by the dunes with a view of the sea was very romantic.

  A fantastic experience. We were very well looked after from start to end. The views are spectacular and we had the added bonus of wildlife spotting on the way to the main dune experience.   ​True cowboy lost in Namibia, Andrea welcomes you with her good humor and puts you at ease right away! Its perfect command of the 4x4 puts you in confidence from the beginning of the excursion and allows you to enjoy the moment without (almost) any fear: guaranteed thrills! Apart from that, it will make you discover an incredible site where the dunes meet the ocean. The desert has no secrets for him: he will dig up the geckos for you and help you follow the trails of wild animals. An unforgettable experience! Thanks.

  If you have the chance to visit Walvis Bay, don’t miss the tour to Sandwich Harbour, located less than 60 km south of the city in the Namib-Naukluft National Park. As a permit is required to enter the park, I booked my excursion with MC Tours. My guide, André, shared fascinating insights about the area’s history and wildlife. We spotted springbok, geckos, and a remarkable variety of birds.   André is also an exceptional driver, skilfully navigating some of the world’s highest dunes—an unforgettable and dramatic landscape. From the top of the dunes, we enjoyed breathtaking views over the picturesque lagoon. The tour ended with a delicious picnic on the crest of a dune, the perfect way to conclude this unique experience.

  This was a not to be missed experience! The scenery, the wildlife and the dune ride (plus the delightful “picnic”) made this an amazing experience. Our driver/guide was knowledgeable and very helpful.

  It was a great experience driving the jeep through the dunes. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful from endless dunes to pink salt lakes with flamingos and seals on the beach was all just great. Big praise to our guide André who picked us up at the port on time and drove safely with us through the dunes. Also thank you for the wonderful picnic he prepared for us.

  First of all, the booking via Tripadvisor was so easy and the pickup at the harbour worked out perfectly. Short prior show up we received an email from Michael with all the details. Our driver Andre was there on time and we were taken to magic spots. Fabulous driving in the dunes, nice and informative conversation about Namibia and people. The whole package I would rate even higher than 5/5! It’s worth every dime and you are going unforgettable moments.
