Deja is a warm and dynamic Bahamian chef with a deep love for food, travel, and hospitality. Join her for a private, hands-on Bahamian cooking class in the outdoor courtyard of Hillside House, a charming art gallery in downtown Nassau. Begin with a refreshing drink and crispy conch fritters before donning Batik aprons for your interactive 3-hour class. You’ll prepare a traditional Sunday dinner feast featuring fresh local fish, peas ‘n’ rice, fried plantains, and personalized garlic macaroni ‘n’ cheese, ending with a homemade guava or pineapple tartlet. Throughout the class, you'll gain insight into Bahamian flavors and culinary traditions, while also learning how to cut a mango or peel a seasonal guinep, a tropical fruit similar to lychee, freshly picked from Deja’s backyard. This experience blends hands-on cooking with live demonstrations and leaves you with recipes, new skills, and lasting memories. Feel free to view the local art in the gallery after your experience. The price of your experience includes a rum cocktail! Your cooking class venue is a 2-min walk from Pirate of Nassau, a 5-min walk from Señor Frog's and a 15-min walk from the cruise terminal.
