We cater for groups, both large and small. This activity is unguided, but you will be briefed and have a map to show you the way. You can take your time and enjoy the tastes of Nelson at your leisure.

Cycling on a comfort E-bike you'll ride out of Nelson on the famous Great Taste Trail. The cycle path is flat, well signed and all off-road. It is 22kms / 13miles to the winery. Cruising through stunning coastal and rural scenery, you will sample fine wines in Nelson's oldest winery (wine tasting included). You may choose to eat at the popular Harvest Kitchen restaurant, situated in the winery (open Wednesday -Sunday). Or choose to cycle back towards Nelson and follow the map to Old Factory Corner with a traditional cafe and other delicious food options to choose from. If you don't want to cycle back, please choose the Shuttle option through Viator. Optional extra - cycle beyond the winery, to the picturesque wharfside town of Mapua via a short ferry ride (ticket not included). Shuttle option bookable through Viator. 5.00The organisation was fantastic, thank you! We loved the wine tasting at Seifried that you added in :). The bikes were perfect, accommodation great, and what a fantastic time of year to do this. All the beautiful fruit that were available at the gates was awesome. Would highly recommend using Cycle Nelson.

4.00If you're not a cyclist and don't know the area, maybe don't do this tour. There wasn't a lot of information on this tour on Viator, had to ask several times about start time, and the map wasn't great, especially as we had to find food on our own (restaurant at the winery was closed), which took us off the main trail, and there was construction on the road the map said for us to go on. There was a lot of heavy industry, highways and busy roads to ride by, so if you're wanting a peaceful ride, this wasn't it. HOWEVER, go to the cycle nelson website and book one of their other tours that looked really interesting. The staff were great. The bikes well maintained.

5.00A great day out! Clear instructions, quick transportation to start point, good quality bikes, great route and lovely cellar door visit and lunch. The icing on the cake was the pick up from the winery.

5.00We liked the service , the bikes the location of the office for a bike ride departure, the wise advice and the route. So many different and safe landscapes. We can't get lost. We took the bike pick-up option to be taken back by bus. So we enjoyed everything in cool mode.

5.00Good communication from the company beforehand and an easy pick up of bikes with clear explanation of route. The trail was easy to navigate and had plenty of lovely opportunities to stop along the route and a delicious and interesting wine-tasting. Would certainly recommend!

5.00Stunning views of the Nelson coastline/estuary and local farmland on this all day excursion to the winery and back. But cycling was easy safe, and energizing. Chris and Bernie couldn't have been better hosts. All and all, a peek experience!

5.00This trip was a perfect combination of exercise with great e-bikes, wine tasting and food. Petra was a wealth of knowledge and made great recommendations. The route was easy to follow. Communication, before and during the tour was excellent and we cannot recommend this trip and the Gentle Cycling Company highly enough.
The E bike experience is the best way to experience Nelson

5.00The lovely Bernie made sure we had a wonderful day cycling in Nelson. The suggested itinerary was excellent and the cheese tasting and cheese scones at the Old factory corner she recommended were absolutely delicious. The bike tracks are very user friendly. The Seifried winery was a perfect spot for wine tasting and lunch. We enjoyed the ride to Rabbit Island was lovely.
