Pene (my guide) was an absolute delight. Living in Japan for over 20 years he has an outsiders/insiders perspective on tourism in the Nagasaki area. He has incredible intelligence and knowledge of the historic presence in the area. A thoughtful orator, the historic walk with Pene was enlightening and informative. He has a way with words to provide a visual picture of the area. Pene is always open to learning so he gave me some new knowledge he had found out about the area. Having the afternoon and early evening tour with Pene was the highlight of my trip. He would be amazing one on one or with a group. He will curate a special tour to accommodate your desires.

Since I was traveling with my parents (both seniors) with Nagasaki as the first leg of our Kyushu trip, we decided to book a guided tour -- and had absolutely no regrets choosing this one. Our guide, Pene, was very considerate, friendly, and made sure the pace was comfortable for everyone. The tour was also very well-organized. He emailed us the itinerary over a week before the trip, and made adjustments tailored to our preferences, given that we requested to attend Sunday mass during the tour. Pene also offered car transport at an extra fee, which we availed of. Because of this, we were also able to visit a lot of the must-see places. The stories and local insights made the places we visited much more meaningful, especially when learning about Nagasaki’s history. We also got some great tips on spots to check out after the tour. Overall, it was an enjoyable and informative experience and definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nagasaki for the first time!

My family had Pene as tour guide while our ship docked in Nagasaki today. Prior to the tour, Pene emailed me with photos of the meeting point after we got off the ship. His photos were precise and he was waiting as we disembarked. Pene is fluent in English; there was no difficulty understanding him. Pene is very informative and knowledgeable of Nagasaki’s history and of the many sites we visited. The cost of the tour included admissions and transportations.—an excellent value. He gave us sufficient time at each of the sites listed on the itinerary.. I highly recommend this semi-private tour of Nagasaki with Pene. You will learn so much about Nagasaki and the atomic bombing of the city.

We had a blast! We took the tour with two older ladies and he was so patient and helpful! Mind you my husband doesn’t speak English but he made sure that I translated everything for him and also tried to explain in Spanish as much as he could. Pene took pictures of us and explained everything with so much detail, we learned so much! It was such a joyful experience! 100/10 would definitely recommend

Our tour at Nagasaki with Pene is the best tour we had during our cruise in Japan. He had spent the full 8 hours with us, and so had been able to see so many beautiful sights. He also took the time to explain to us the history of each sight, such as the Peace park and Atomic bomb museum. He had been very patient and tried his best to accomodate special requests such as shopping stop during the tour. We don't think we that we would have been able to have such a comprehensive tour if we took shore excursion from the ship. Absolutely recommending this tour with Pene for any visitors to Nagasaki, esp if their time is limited, and can only spend a day.

Pene provided a lovely and comprehensive tour of Nagasaki. He was very informative and attentive to all of the group's needs. The tour was well planned and ended near the cruise ship so that it was within walking distance. We used taxis to get around which worked beautifully. The natural beauty of Nagasaki was seen from above via a ropeway tram. The church and museum visits were a must as well as Glover Garden. I loved the way Pene incorporated his teaching experiences into the tour. It gave a true feeling of the Nagasaki way of life. Thank you, Pene, for such a wonderful experience.!
