According to Bradt Travel Guide, the Komani Lake journey is described as “one of the World’s greatest boat trips”. The tour to Komani Lake & Valbona Valley is a special interest hiking and adventure tour program exclusively designed to offer participants the best combination of pristine wild nature, unforgettable ferry ride through the heart of the Albanian Alps, local folklore and traditions. During these three days you will be able to visit most of the attractions of Northern Albania, combining a variety of exciting outdoor activities with plenty of time to soak up the local culture.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness

This tour requires some hiking experience and good physical condition.

The accommodation is based in traditional and simple homestay/guesthouse/lodge- style or shepherd’s hut with basic bathroom amenities. Each room typically accommodates two to five travelers, and it might be necessary for male and female groups to share a room, unless you book a private room. Private rooms are possible on 35 Euros extra charge per night per person based on availability.

Vau i Dejes

Our journey towards Komani Lake begins early in the morning at 05:00 am. Our tour leader will come and pick you up at your hotel in Tirana. As we take the turn from the main road to Vau i Dejës the area becomes more rural, with fewer cars but more wild nature and amazing landscapes. We will stop for a short break by Vau i Dejes Lake, a beautiful and tranquil setting, and from here on we will experience local transport over bumpy roads but with a great view.

Komani Lake By Wild Tour Albania

We will get on a ferry that will take us through Komani Lake offering spectacular views of the Albanian Alps, waterfalls, rural villages and wild forests. It is considered by many as an exotic experience combined with the unmatched hospitality of the locals.

Valbona Valley National Park

Our next destination will be Valbona Valley National Park. We will arrive in Valbona and after we will explore the area and admire the so-called Crown of the Albanian Alps. Overnight in a guesthouse in Valbona.

The hiking tour of the Albanian Alps gets more intense during this day, however filled with exciting challenges and breathtaking scenery. Our hiking objective is "Piramida 18", offering one of the most beautiful views and is located on the Montenegrin–Albanian border. “Piramida 18” stands 2000m above sea level, with a total of 15 km hike both ways. To reach the pass takes around 4h from Vabona Valley National Park and we pass through Kukaj. The view offers a 360° spectacular panorama of the wild nature of Accursed Mountains. We will enjoy a picnic lunch from this breath-taking corner of the world. We will take some time to rest and recharge on the middle of the Alps before starting our descent back to Valbona Valley. Overnight in a guesthouse in Valbona.

His knowledge of the country’s deep and fascinating history and his passion for his country and its people was inspiring. We never once felt unsafe. Albanian’s were always welcoming. The people are friendly and made us feel welcome. Our guide Illir was patient and kind His information about the country was interesting and engaging Would recommend visiting Albania “Choose Balkons” was the company we booked through. Sirma was our contact. She was always contactable and easy to communicate with. We did the 4 day north tour.

we were driven to Komani lake. There we took a ferry for 1.5 hours. The scenery was beautiful, a nice ferry ride. But unfortunately the lake was very littered. this was very sad to see, all the tourists complained about this. Weird that they can't get it cleaned up? After the ferry ride, it was a short hour with a small bus to Valbona village. Valbona was very cozy, surrounded by beautiful nature. the following day it was out on a trip together with our guide. Our guide was nice and very safe. He helped us if we needed. Maja e. Rosit is one of my best hiking tours. It was amazing. We used 11 hours all together on the hike. The view on the top was stunning. We are very happy with this tour, amazing hike and a nice guide.

The hiking tour of valbona was awesome. me and my friend really enjoyed the wild nature of northen Albania. we would love to do the trek to Theth but we are not very experienced in hiking. Thank you Team for every information you shared with us before the tour. Would Recommend

We were a group of friends who took this tour to Valbona and it was awesome , the boat journey in Komani Lake was all worth it.We enjoyed the wonderful view of the mountains and we would like to visit it again in summertime ! Thank you guys !
