Museo – Taller de Casapueblo
Casapueblo is a building constructed by the Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró. It is located in Punta Ballena, 8.1 miles (13 kilometers) from Punta del Este, Uruguay. It was originally a summer house and workshop of the artist. It now houses a museum, an art gallery, a cafeteria and a hotel. It was the permanent residence of its creator, where he worked and spent his last days. In the main dome of Casapueblo are the museum and workshop where you can see part of the work of the late painter, potter, sculptor, muralist, writer, composer and builder Carlos Páez Vilaró. It has four exhibition halls: Nicolás Guillén Room, Pablo Picasso Room, Rafael Squirm Room, José Gómez Sicre Room, projection room, the Mermaid Terrace, Hippocampus Viewpoint, Taberna del Rayo Verde, coffee shop and boutique. Every afternoon since 1994, the Ceremony of the Sun is performed on the terraces of the museum. Minutes before sunset, the artist's voice from a recording dedicates a poem to the sun to bid the sun farewell.

It's not worth it! It is very far away, there is no public transport that comes nearby, they leave us 1 1/2 km away from the House. The house itself is very poor, are five rooms with some works of the artist, from the house itself you see very little. Disappointing. Very expensive and exhausting program!

Wonderful the Casa Pueblo! It is worth visiting to watch the sunset taking a wine on the balcony, listening to the declamation of Carlos Vilaró

Cool place with a beautiful view. I went to the casapueblo today to watch the sunset with my dad. I got there ordered an IPA craft beer, and as the sun went down we kept talking, until the waiter came with another beer which I did not order and steamed on my desk asking if it was there that we ordered. I thought it was a mistake, but since I had no other table drinking IPA I accepted (it was my mistake). At the time of paying the bill the guy brought, had given 800 pesos (400 of each IPA, total 2) I asked to pass the card (finish the tip, pass on debit in Uruguay has a discount), he took the command, spoke loudly 800 pesos and gave the machine for me to pass the approximation. I passed without looking at the display (other error). By the time the road went off, the account went from 800 to 880. There I understood that from opening the wrong beer to paying the bill everything was architected. I lost the discount and still the waiter charged another 10% without communicating and without my permission, even moreover without showing me the screen of the value. The guy just passed and still lied when I questioned saying that the machine was charging automatically. (Another lie, whoever entered the value was him) Anyway, the place is cool, but will you visit? Watch everything. My experience was being doced in 2 situations for less than 1 hour.

What a fantastic place, breathing art in every piece! The paintings, the sculptures, the details of the Casa Pueblo, all ornate and handmade... amazing to see all this and still be pleased with a hallucinating sunset!

Incredible and unique place, it is worth knowing the history and its house, it is still alive in its art and the kittens that live and live with those we visit. At sunset you see the sunset on the hills and hear your ode to the sun through the speakers, beautiful.
