Pickup starts 15 min prior to the departure times. We have 3 different docks and town to pick up at so please be ready so we will be able to get started on time. Stops are weather dependent and include waterfalls, historic sights, glaciers, alpine valleys, and breath taking views. We will stop where possible for any wild life along the way which could include bears, sheep, goats, marmots and lots more. Take a picture with the welcome to Alaska sign and the Yukon sign. Sled Dog adventure includes a petting yard for the puppies and a Yukon Mushing expert narration on the life of a musher. The vehicle the dogs pull is a side by side four wheeler that seats 5 with room for 2 to stand in the back. In order not to over tax the dogs this type of vehicle allows the musher to help the team up hills and good braking system for the down hills but the dogs do most of the pulling along the way. Your guide will instruct you on how to pan and provide a pan with pay dirt for you to try your luck. With a little help from us all our gold miners strike it rich and get to take gold back to show your friends. We can drop you off at the end of your tour at your ship or in town to enjoy our historic buildings and shopping.

My husband and I had the experience of a lifetime. Our driver Tyler was fantastic! We stopped several times for photo ops. Once at the camp we were greated with so many adorable puppies! You can tell that the sled dogs love what they do. Watching them jump and bark from excitement was contagious. The scenery was breathtaking. Even stopped at a lake to let the dogs drink and cool down! Panning for gold was neat, you're pretty much guaranteed to get gold flakes. A core memory for life!

We had a great time. We were the first group there (yea!) so no one there yet, but because of they the dogs were EXCITED. My 8 yo, who is used to large dogs, was completely engulfed by nipping, jumping dogs. I literally had to pull dogs off. He thought it was funny, but know that pups will be pups and it could be overwhelming for you get kids not used to dogs.

Our guide Tyler was full of local knowledge and fun facts about Skagway and made the tour very interesting and entertaining throughout! The tour itself was great too, the drive from town to the Sled Dog Kennel was beautiful and Tyler made sure to stop for plenty of pictures where possible. The sled dogs were amazing and playing with the puppies was a personal highlight of ours. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Skagway.

This was the BEST dog sledding tour! We really appreciated that Klondike tours offered a small bus with a max group of 15-20, as there were several large buses going other places. We talked to several others who went on different tours and this one was by and far the best. ❤️ Apparently there are 5 different “musher training camps” near Skagway, so tours go to different ones. At Iditarod training camp, we saw puppies, rode on a side by side pulled by the sled dog team, learned more about dog sledding, and panned for gold while meeting the owner and Iditarod racer, Michelle. It was incredible! Our tour driver Tyler took us to a few scenic views and was full of great information on the drive. Would highly recommend this if you’re looking for a sled dog adventure!
