The Geothermal Park Hveragerdi

Once picked up, our initial stop on the Golden Circle Tour is the Iceland Hot Springs Park in Hveragerði. A brief drive will bring you to the Eilífur Geyser, which erupts every 15-20 minutes. Stroll along the park's trails, enveloped by bubbling hot springs that highlight Iceland's geothermal marvels. Savor hverabrauð, a sweet bread baked using geothermal heat in the on-site bakery. Inside the greenhouse, witness banana plants thriving in this unique geothermal setting.

Kerid Crater

Next stop is at Kerid, a brightly colored volcanic crater. Kerid is only a few thousand years old, and the crater’s colorful appearance comes from iron deposits in the rocks. The caldera is also covered with lush banks of velvet-green moss. Inside the crater lies a shallow turquoise-colored lake, making Kerid one of the most striking sights seen anywhere in Iceland.

We really enjoyed this tour! The bus was comfortable and the stops well planned and spaced. There were even a few fun surprise stops along the way. Our guide was great and shared a lot about it Icelandic culture. We especially loved learning about the Christmas lore. The final stop at Hvammsvik was a perfect way to end the day! Highly recommend adding this tour to your itinerary!

We took this tour as part of a 2 night golden circle and south coast tour from nice travel. Our guide Kristina was the best guide weve ever had (and weve traveled a lot). She was so friendly, knowledgeable and funny! Its no small task to be both a driver and guide and she did both with ease. She showed us all the great places that we had planned but she also optimized our time at each location, made recommendations on what we should do, buy, eat and told us great stories about each location. On the bus she had trivia and gave out small chocolates as prizes. If you get Kristina as your guide you have lucked out! The tour stops were great and i would HIGHLY recomend adding Hvammsvik spa to your tour (or go separately). We went to Sky Lagoon, Blue Lagoon, Hvammsvik and a few small ones and Hvammsvik is hands down the best. It didnt hurt that we watched an incredible display of the northern lights there, but the whole place is so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. So many pools to try and you can take a dip in the ocean to cool off! The group size was about 16 or so people which was a good number and all admission fees were included in the cost of the tour.

Highly recommend this tour! Our guide, ‘Bear’, was very knowledgeable and fun. It was really interesting to hear him talk about the Icelandic landscape and how it has changed over millennia. In particular, we also enjoyed Bear’s stories about Icelandic Christmas traditions and the Great Geysir at the peak of its powers. In terms of the stops, we had an ample amount of time to enjoy the views, take photos and do everything that we wanted to do. We were in awe of Gullfoss and loved witnessing a double eruption from Strokkur. Bear conducted a mini tour of the geysers/hot springs at the Haukadalur geothermal area and it was great learning more about the science behind geysers. Finally, a highlight (to cap off what was already a great day) was visiting the Hvammsvík hot springs. 8 wonderful, relaxing natural hot springs to rest in, right by the ocean! We would recommend spending a good amount of time in the steam bath, then taking a dip in the ocean and then going back into the steam bath (and doing that over and over again for maximum relaxation). Truly a perfect day on this tour!

We had the best time on this tour with our guide Pawel. All the sites are incredibly beautiful and provide opportunities to walk , take photos and learn about the place. Ending the day at Hvammsvik was the pinnacle. Gorgeous location along Whale Fjord and lovely amenities. We are so happy we chose this tour of Golden Circle with Hvammsvik!

Was a nicely organised tour with stops at great sights. Our guide Dominique was very friendly and informative. Stop at the hot springs experience was okay but not great. I would skip it if I was doing it over again because it made the day really long.
