Dambulla Cave Temple
The Dambulla Cave Temple is located 24 km (30 min) from Sigiriya in central Sri Lanka. Built in about 80BC It is the largest and best preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka. Inside are 153 Buddha statues in various reposes, three statues of ancient kings, and four other statues including those of Vishnu and Ganesh. The ceiling and walls have been repainted over the centuries contain a juxtapose of imagery including those of royal life.
Sigiriya Lion Rock
Sigiriya Lion Rock is an ancient rock fortress known for its massive column of rock that reaches nearly 200 meters high. The site dates back to the reign of King Kasyapa (477-495 AD), who chose this site as his new capital. He decorated the walls with frescoes, and built an impressive palace right on top of the rock column, accessible only through the mouth of an enormous carved lion.

5.00In our 3 weeks travel through Sri Lanka, was nearly every thing and day perfect, thank the very competent and amiable team of the organizer Nishan and the accompanist Sameera! A team I cordialy like to recommend! Also the sever health problems at the beginning, necessitating a 2 days hospital stay, were competently managed and the travel could be safely continued. 5.00We were lucky enough to have Chathu as our driver. He was super professional, very responsive and with little care with us. He found us nice places especially to eat, have us the best table to have the most beautiful view. Explanations and anecdotes during trips and visits. Open, flexible and available. 5.00Thank you Sunny Ceylon Travels for a magical trip to Sri Lanka! Nishan helped us coordinate the trip prior to arrival and ensured all was running smoothly once we hit the ground. It was all done with full transparency and care. Our tour guide and driver Shiran looked after us though out our stay. He was dedicated and always had our best interest at heart. We experienced hikes, safari, surfing, wonderful resorts and the charm and beauty of the varied landscape that Sri Lanka has to offer. People were warm and friendly everywhere we went. We highly recommend Sunny Ceylon Travels! ✨

5.00Many thanks to Sunny Ceylon Travels for organizing our 13-day family stay (8 adults and 6 children). We booked most of the accommodation by ourselves before contacting Nishan who then made us proposals for the missing accommodation., as well as a planning proposal. Everything was perfect! A magic circuit. Special mention for our 2 drivers Chathu and Sameera who were always punctual, accommodating and very pleasant. Chathu was always good advice and booked us most restaurants (which were very good choices), which allowed us to be guided. The children would have liked to stay another week (and so would we)! Thank you for showing us your beautiful country. I recommend 100%.

5.00We booked the tour from the UK, not really knowing much about Sri Lanka's size or scale, but were guided by expert Nishan at Sunny Ceylon as to our ideal itinerary. He was superb. Helpful, quick to respond, clear and straight answers to questions. He planned hotels, routes, excursions and train tickets for us, which meant that we were able to enjoy the holiday from the moment we touched down at Bandaranaike Airport at 3 in the morning! The actual driving part was conducted by Leyon who was a wonderful driver and guide. Constantly smiling, he made our trip really enjoyable, stopping frequently to buy some local foodstuff for us to try; or finding a guide to take us up Sigiriya; or a cool place to have an Ayurvedic massage. He kept his vehicle super clean and was always on time (well, bar once, but we don't talk about that). He was part of our team and really made the holiday fun and enjoyable. The highlights were Sigiriya, Horathapola Coconut Estate, snorkelling in Pigeon Island off Trincomalee, the surf of the South coast, the tea plantations in Nuwara Eliya, and a must see is staying in the Kingsley's Pearl in Galle Fort. The elephants were also beautiful, but not guaranteed, and so I would recommend one or a maximum of two trips. Similarly with temples - I would recommend Polonnaruwa to get an overview of a huge complex of government, religion and agriculture to really stretch your mind. Finally, the food was amazing! The best was served on banana leaves with big bowls of communal food at a place outside Parakrama Samudraya. Wow! But everywhere served amazing fresh, tasty and interesting food based on some core staples. We loved the Sri Lankan people and their hospitality and cannot recommend this holiday enough for people with teenage children who like to travel around a country and explore it. Thank you, Nishan and Leyon for a great time!!
A Wonderful Trip Thanks to Thilanka

5.00Over this summer we made a 5 day trip to Sri Lanka. Given the time constraints, we decided to visit just a few places of interest, that being Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Negombo (with a day trip to Colombo). We were extremely fortunate to have Thilanka as our driver for the entire duration of the trip. He helped make our stay in Sri Lanka a memorable, safe and enjoyable one. He is very knowledgeable about places to visit and a highly skilled driver who is able to safely navigate the narrow and winding roads connecting various locations. He is patient, kind, and reliable and was available to drive us around at our convenience. We appreciated that he graciously allowed us to decide our itinerary. Whilst he keenly suggested visiting certain tourist attractions, he was not insistent and calmly adhered to our preferences, making for a very pleasurable and stress-free holiday. My family and I would highly recommend enlisting Thilanka’s services to experience the breathtaking sights and culture of beautiful Sri Lanka.
