Our tour guide Richie was amazing very knowledgeable and provided deep rich history. My family truly enjoyed our visit. Richie answered all of our questions and even took it a step further to show us all the amazing people who are buried here. Richie also provided us great recommendations for lunch. This was a wonderful experience.

Our tour guide, Mama Niita, was a superb tour guide. This lovely lady is 72 years old and not only loves being a guide in this 236 year old cemetery, but truly loves being a New Orleanian. Her knowledge was stellar. We saw the tomb of Nicholas Cage, who wishes to be buried there. We saw the segregated sections (Black, White, Catholics, etc.), and the tomb of Homer Plessy, to name a few. We heard stories of the rich and famous, as well as, those with a sordid past. Not a squeamish tour at all. I recommend.

It’s hot and you don’t always have shade, but there are misters along the way. Our guide was great!!

This was an incredible experience just to explore the cemetery itself, but what elevated it to another level was our tour guide, Richie. His extensive knowledge of the cemetery, the customs, and the city's history, combined with his natural storytelling abilities, were unmatched. His passion for his work and the city he represents shines through not only in his narratives but also in his efforts to ensure the group was as comfortable as possible in the heat. We appreciated how he seamlessly integrated pop culture references (like movies) into the tour, and his occasional dad jokes added that extra touch. Richie is personable and authentic - a quality that is impossible to feign. As we concluded the tour, Richie kindly provided us with a list of recommended dining spots, which we took advantage of, and it certainly did not disappoint. The cemetery itself is rich with centuries of history and lore, and Richie played a significant role in bringing that history to life, making our visit truly enjoyable. The cemetery plays a vital role in the city's culture, and Richie serves well as the cemetery and the city's ambassador. Highest of recommendations for this tour - if Richie is part of it.
