We saw all the creatures. Birds, raccoons, crocodiles, howler monkeys, a stingray… only issue was that the positioning of the boat didn’t allow for quality pictures. The pineapple snack was divine!! Could have eaten one all to myself. Guide was knowledgeable and spoke English very well.

It’s a short 2 hour boat ride through the local mangroves. We saw plenty of herons, howler monkeys, crabs, a family of raccoons and even a small crocodile. Our guide Ivan was a wealth of information and was adept at spotting the animals for us. I highly recommend this excursion. Make sure to book the boat ride as early in the morning as possible before the afternoon heat. Pura Vida!

Our guide was informative but unfortunately we did not see many animals. We spotted racoons, some birds, no Tucan or McCaw but a couple howler monkeys. We went at 10AM and a low tide which limited the boat going deeper into the estuary. Overall it was fun and informative regarding the ecosystem and animals.

Very calm boat ride. Guide was knowledgeable and I learned a lot about the mangroves and their importance to the ecosystem. Saw a crocodile, but no other exotic animals. It is a bit tame for the adventurous traveler, but nice for a relaxing activity.

Ivan was a terrific tour guide. The group made it clear than the time is dependent on the tides. Viator's websight only says 10:00 am. We went at 7:45 am to accomidate the tide. The local group made this very clear with an email and WhatsApp.He picked us up at the Tamarindo Wyndham at 7:45. Ivan was most knowledgeable about the wild life. The pineapple was the best I've ever had! This is a great way to spend time in Tamarindo.
