Cruising the glacier on the Ice Adventure may cover up to 5 kilometres of distance, with many diversions.

You will explore fascinating ice features, squeeze through winding canyons, peer into moulins and caves - and the many surprises the ice delivers!

We provide all the technical gear. You provide the enthusiasm, and be ready to learn new skills. Your guide will coach you in the use of crampons, ice axes, ice screws, and other tools of the ice climber.

The Tasman Glacier Ice Adventure is a true New Zealand “highlight” experience, giving you a glimpse into the world of Kiwi mountaineering.

Tasman Glacier

The Tasman Glacier Ice Adventure is more than just a “full-day” helihike; it is a true exploration of the mighty Haupapa Tasman Glacier, designed for the fitter, or more adventurous travellers. Your day will begin with a scenic helicopter flight to a high landing at approx. 1,400 metres above sea level. Then, with your glacier guide, you will traverse the incredible glacial landscape of crevasses, moulins and towering seracs. You will squeeze through ice features, get lowered into trenches and then climb back up using ice tools and your crampons.
