Our operations start around 8.00 a.m. and go until 4.30 p.m. Between those times, you can come and take your tour. Also, one tour normally takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour to complete.
When taking the plantation tour, you must participate in the tea-picking session. Before the session, we performed the customary worship of Lord Ganesh at a small kovil close to the plantation.
You will also receive your basket to harvest tea, as well as a small mottu. If you decide to take part in the tea plucking activity, you could perhaps wear the customary tea plucker attire of a wraparound saree or sarong.
Relax amidst the breathtaking views of endless greenery, tea estates, and surrounding countryside at our Sky Café from a mountain top of 300m above ground/1300m above sea level.

5.00Great experience to understand tea production and try your hand ins mall group at collecting tea. Very clear explanations by Dharshani! At the end, you got to try a number of different varieties of tea and sit looking out at lovely views from the sky deck cafe.

5.00This was our very first tea plantation experience in our two weeks in Sri Lanka and what an experience it was! The tea plantation itself is in a really beautiful area and we were lucky to have visited on a very sunny day. Huge thanks to Sallay who delivered our guide and really went above and beyond to explain the difference in teas when buying, the tea history of Sri Lanka and how to tea pick. This was a really memorable talk and now I know what a good tea product is! It also really made me aware of how much effort and time goes into tea. We then went tea picking with a lovely planter called Maria for 15-30 minutes. Sallay also took some great photos of me - thank you! The gift shop is great - after travelling around Sri Lanka, this was easily one of the best gift shops for tea so do make room in your luggage for it. I regret not buying a few more for friends/family but I did buy the green tea and an apple one. They also have an in house coffee and I had the best iced ceremonial matcha - ones that could rival the best ones in my city (London!) I would definitely give yourself more than an hour or two here so you don’t rush the experience. A fab way to spend a morning!

5.00We had a great experience on Halpe Tea Factory. Thanks to Mr Susantha, our guide for plantation tour, we leaned many stories behind tea we drink everyday. It was wonderful learning for my 11 years old son. Also views from tea farm was amazing. Friendly staff and beautiful mountains gave us truly memorable time in Ella.

5.00It was a great experience and highly recommended. It’s also very affordable. The visit takes around 60–90 minutes, and it’s worth it because the tour guide takes the time to explain everything and answer questions.
