Oban is the frontier between the West Highlands and the Islands. Its mild, temperate climate, warmed by the Gulf Stream, sets it apart in a region known for its rugged natural beauty. The proximity to the coast lends Oban some of that salted character for which the Islands are renown, though this is as gentle as the soft rains which give the fishing town its lush surrounds.
Embarking on the classic tour of Oban Distillery, this experience will offer you the chance to savour three delicious drams of Oban, whilst your host shares insights into our history and unique whisky making process.
From our traditional mash tun through our captivating Still House, to the old filling store, you will learn about how we create the distinctive character and flavours of Oban whisky.

5.00The tour was great, led by Andy, who was both very informative and engaging. The history of the distillery was interesting and the samples along the way were excellent. I would recommend this experience when in Oban.

5.00I was visiting oban and the weather wasnt great so decided to see what was on around oban. I seen that there was space on obans whisky distilery tour and decided to try it. Im fairly new to drinking whisky and the tour done by gavin was really enjoyable.the first whisky i sampled was oban little bay which i got to say i really enjoyed it as it was very smooth and easy to drink and full of flavour. The rest of the tour with more samples and learning the history of the distilery was really interesting. Next time in oban i would definitely do one of the other tours. Right in the heart of oban so really easy to get to if visiting oban for a few days as you dont need to drive to it shich is a bonus

5.00Need to go if you love whisky ;) They still do it the traditional way, when others don't. One of only few left in Scotland ;)
